  1. How about Jim's? It was a place kinda like Jo-Jo's or Denny's. Scarfed down many a double order of chicken fried steaks at 3 AM after a hard night of partying:) There was a Steak-n-Shake in Pasadena, on Southmore.
  2. Anybody have any pictures of the old San Jacinto Ordnance Depot back when it was operational? We used to go all over that place back in the '60s and on up into the '70s before it was developed like now. There's still lots of ammo bunkers back there now. Used to do alot of hunting there too. Anybody that remembers? Or was stationed/worked there? It was still operated by the government up until the early '60s, I think. There's also been rumors since I can remember of underground facilities there, although I never saw any evidence of any.
  3. Yep, I remember U-Tote-Em. There was one on my street in our neighborhood in Channelview (Channelwood). The building's still there, it's the water district office now. We spent a lot of time (and money) there as kids on cokes, candy, think they had popcorn later. They were still building a lot of the houses there in the early '60s and some of the construction guys came in and bought hot links for lunch. I remember those hot links, man they were good. Ten cents, plus a nickel if you wanted a slice of bread with it. Worked there some later cleaning up, stocking shelves.
