  1. Alliance Residential is set to acquire the sites. A public meeting will be held on November 29th to discuss their plans.
  2. The private driveway south of Leona Street that extends along the side of the Residences at Hardy Yards is being constructed.
  3. Looks like this lot was also on the Planning Commission agenda today... Houston Heights Swift Replat. I'd love to see that building used in any design that's going forward. I'm sure it'd add to the value of whatever is built there. Even building around the Swift and Company building, maybe using the exposed brick walls for a courtyard would be neat.
  4. The White Oak Trail connection behind the Castillo Center is getting started. Some excavation has taken place. It'll be a great connection for the neighborhood. I wish there were TIRZ money for some other connections around Hogan Street. http://houstonparksboard.org/projects/white_oak_bayou_greenway/
  5. https://twitter.com/chrisandrewsCDA/status/756595469137174529 Some site testing at 1901 N. Main last Friday. Could something with a little bit of height be planned?
  6. Got to take a hardhat tour of the site yesterday. Still a lot of work to be done. They're shooting for an October 26th grand opening, with about the first 15 or 16 floors complete at that time. The 39th floor penthouse suites will be the last floor completed. They're sparing no expense on the project. Market Square Tower - Hard Hat Tour
  7. More site work (grading) at the Residences at Hardy Yards. Also, more landscaping has been installed.
  8. New stucco on 2211 North Main. Also, a new parking lot just behind it at Winnie and Keene Streets.
  9. Rode by Avenue Station yesterday. It's looking good. Brick is going up on the bottom floors. Looking forward to this being completed.
  10. Rode by yesterday. Brick going up on the bottom floors. Looking forward to this being completed.
  11. It'll be houses. They platted the land into three larger lots. The plat is available through the Harris County Clerk's website. You can register and look for the plat by name, "Smith House on Harvard". http://www.cclerk.hctx.net/applications/websearch/MC.aspx https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7dTlUibjCxGdmpTT2V3SGt2dXM/view?usp=sharing
  12. City Council is set to vote this week to declare the Houston Heights Waterworks Reservoir site as surplus property, and to have it appraised. http://t.co/DsQhvwFHV6
  13. Yeah, those pictures are of the townhouse site that will be next to Arne's, not the parcel at 3028 Center Street. 3028 Center Street is located between the Chase Bank and the Schott's Bakery building. JLB is the same company building apartments in EaDo, http://www.houstonarchitecture.com/haif/topic/28878-eado-station-apartments/page-6and in the Heights at Nicholson and 24th Street http://www.houstonarchitecture.com/haif/topic/30231-new-multifamily-apartments-at-nicholson-24th-st/. It looks like the Chronicle actually took down the Studemont Heights rendering and replaced it with another Detering photo... It was in the story yesterday. Sullivan Brothers Builders has a small snippet on their website, naming the development Studemont Heights - http://www.sbbtexas.com/index.php
  14. Here are the two sides of the development map that was handed out today. http://www.downtownhouston.org/site_media/uploads/attachments/2014-11-13/141105_Double_Sided_Development_Map_Renders_Map_Small_11x17_cond.pdf http://www.downtownhouston.org/site_media/uploads/attachments/2014-11-13/141105_Double_Sided_Development_Map_Renders_Map_Small_8.5x11_cond.pdf The three projects approved for the Downtown Living Initiative today were: Project 30 - Camden Trust- It notes that there will be "20-story, 550-unit residential buildings" So, I can't say for sure whether that's two towers, or a tower and a mid-rise of something like that. Project 35 - The Cosmopolitan - 7-story, 209-unit residential building Project 36 - Marlowe - 20 story, 100 unit condominium
  15. The Houston Downtown Management District. They approved the funding for three projects today that applied for the Downtown Living Initiative.
  16. Yes, directly to the south. There's two blocks for this project. Block 330 (1521 Austin) will be Phase 1. Block 346 (1404 Leeland) will be Phase 2.
  17. Yes, it was said that there have been 4199 units approved through the Downtown Living Initiative so far. Here is the note about the length of the incentives from the Downtown Houston Management District website: "The financial incentive will be paid for the first 5,000 residential units under contract to participate in this Program or for a four year period from July 2012 through June 30, 2016." http://www.downtownhouston.org/site_media/uploads/attachments/2014-05-06/140506_Combined_Toolkit_Program_Description__Eligibility_1.pdf
  18. I was at the meeting today, (That's actually my a photo from my one of my tweets) and it was noted that there would be retail on the bottom floor as well. That's reflected in the rendering.
  19. I took that picture at the meeting today..... In the picture above, the rendering in the center is of the Camden Toyota Center project. (Camden Toyota Center was on the poster of the rendering.) I should have taken a better shot, but I cannot confirm that the Randall Davis is the rendering at the right of the picture. I do know that the Randall Davis project was said to have 20 stories, and would have 100 units.
