Environment, History, Southern Studies. Genealogy. I'm particularly interested in miscegenation questions surrounding not just its economic impact and how its expression differed historically both between the genders and from region to region in the U.S. South, but also perhaps more critically why did so many couples risks so much controversy and alienation in the pursuit of these relationships? What motivated them? Few scholarly treatments appear to address these kinds of questions.
