  1. There is a new canopy they are installing over there. I didnt know if they would convert it into something for the school or what
  2. Its not a matter of common sense... Its a matter of political environment. This is a multi-billion dollar development in 5th Ward... That is going to require some amount of political capital to pull off and the only way you will do that is with some % of work force housing.
  3. I would think that the apartments on the North West side would be partially workforce housing based on the density and look of them.
  4. Yes, there will be some future legalization. My guess for Texas is 2020 or 2021. The republicans have already come out and supported in. Just have to move the Lt. Governor out of the way first. Once it is set, all of these CBD shops popping up like weeds will convert over to distributors and I guarantee that the processes will be in place at this factory to start mass production.
  5. They are just prepping for legalization. Then they will be the best positioned manufacturer for the city of houston.
  6. They have a TON of dirt out there now. Looks like site prep and foundation work may start soon.
  7. What does this mean when this is released? Construction about to start? Just more plans?
  8. They seem to still be hosting new potential clients for the area too. Their building is lit up with "Khalid" this week. Probably for the upcoming concert: https://www.toyotacenter.com/events/detail/khalid
  9. There has been some steady refurbishing going on in this area around Voodoo Queen. The Firestation is a good example of it.
  10. There is a park with a splash pad across the street. Unfortunately it is ALWAYS filled with homeless due to the soup kitchen being around the corner. East End had to shut off the fountain because people were bathing in it and using it as a restroom.
  11. The link below takes you back to the original release. I cant imagine putting a tall office tower in phase 1 or 2 and potentially blocking view in the latter phases. Plus this section with the tall tower is on the lowest point of the site and the only area below the 500 year flood plane https://imgur.com/pUsudtZ Also, interesting stats on this Andrew guys page: Architecture Firm: Page Size: 600,00 square feet Location: Houston, TX Completion: 2021
  12. The bayou is wide enough in this location to fit this ship. That would be a huge pull for the new museum and a great view of downtown.
  13. This view kind of interests me because they didnt simulate the new 45 reroute. They also showed development on the Pinto Realty lots that will be taken over by the 45 re-route. https://imgur.com/eIoYjh4
  14. Probably a combination of private funds, opportunity zone, affordable housing, TIRZ 23, TIRZ 18, and other city funds. I think that there was an estimate waaay back after the property was purchased from KBR that it would take $1.2 to $1.5 billion to revamp the site
  15. Anyone know if they have plans to keep the dog park from flooding again?
  16. Gondola is cheaper and probably faster than light rail considering the logistics of going around the Bayou from the East River sight. Metro should love this. It connects more people to their main light rail lines. I could imagine living at the East River and working in Downtown, taking your bike to the gondola, riding that to UHD, and then biking to work.
  17. @Luminare you missed a good opportunity to say, "we have gone so far off the rails..."
  18. I had waaay too much time on my hands to think about this, but here is my suggestion for 2 Gondola routes: https://imgur.com/a/ArazkT7 Keep in mind I have ZERO technical background on how these work other than ski trips and the rodeo. The goal here was to connect East River to the Light Rail systems at BBVA and UHD. I tried to pick land that is currently open and would be easily developed on after the I-45 Re-Route. Both routes would give amazing views of the Bayou and Downtown.
