  1. I meant odd in a good way as Williams has stood tall and proud, yet alone for 30+ years.
  2. This makes me so happy! He certainly has the $$$ to do it. It will be so odd to see something this tall close to the Williams Tower! Exciting!
  3. A hotel would be great! Of course, LaColombe D'or will have a some hotel space in their new tower. The views from this corner would be incredible.
  4. Off the topic, but I don't see a thread anywhere. How tall of a building do you think Hines will do on the corner of D'Amico and Waugh across form Whole Foods. We all know Hines doesn't mess around.
  5. Thank you. I'm sure @Houston19514 knew exactly what I meant. Maybe in Beaumont TCB tower would be considered super tall. We haven't had a signature high rise since the 80's, and certainly no super tall like Chicago is getting.
  6. I think it is crazy that we don't have a super tall. We have been stuck with a 75 story as the tallest since 1983. That's crazy.
  7. Could that ramp look more tired? Geez. Get some paint or powerwash it. It's not Sharpstown!
  8. I just don't see how there is enough space for the parking etc. And the luxury mid-rise "Giorgetti" will now be facing this. Wonder what effect that will have on the sales.
  9. I wish it was for sale! That would be great as the views wouldn't change towards Discovery Green.
  10. I have been a few times in the last month to watch the Astros on their screens and grab a burger. It is an easy place to eat, and then my kids go to Discovery Green afterwards. I really like taking out of towners there as it shows off the area, and that downtown is alive.
  11. Me too. We need the density. As far as I can tell the only way to get Texans out of their cars is to make parking expensive and difficult. New York City is hot and humid in the summer and yet without thinking you can walk 20 blocks. 5-10 years ago you wouldn't see a pedestrian in Houston unless their car broke down. We do need some pedestrian overpasses though for Westheimer at Highland Village, Allen Parkway, Post Oak @ Westheimer etc so we don't get mowed down! I love this city though and we are living here in a very exciting time.
  12. It is very nice, but the views to the east will one day be blocked when they redevelop the center where Fit, Cafe Express, etc is. I am excited to see this addition to our skyline. I would happily live there.
  13. For the love of GOD it can't happen soon enough. It's holding down that whole section of Midtown.
  14. It doesn't look as tall as i thought it would. Also, they are not using the same materials and color scheme as the rendering. It looks good, but wow - the retail is so close to the street.
  15. Hey- I am glad to have the in-fill. I also agree that it beats any and every Randall Davis. I would just like to see some cool top on a few more of these buildings. Hines has proved that the tenants are willing to pay for it. I just want a new 90 story trophy tower and I don't feel like that's too much to ask! (Kidding, kind of)
  16. I can't imagine how tall that will look! Also - I agree that it looks like the Southmore 2.0. Can't we please please get a tower with more pizzaz? Austin gets them. Dallas gets them. We are the step-children of cool high-rises. Look at what is going in on Bammel - it already looks like a 1990's dated design and he hasn't even started. None-the-less, I am glad for the vertical construction over the 8 story wraps.
  17. I wish the sun had been shining - but that was too much to ask this weekend. None the less, this area is full of life, and the hotel isn't even open yet. Plus the GRB looks fantastic.
