  1. I hate to be negative but I do wonder which view will command the highest rate. The Chevron parking parage, Wedge garage, or the surface lot
  2. Pics from yesteday and today. Metal framing has started.
  3. This was posted back in January, is stil the plan? http://s.lnimg.com/a...85BAD5BF38.pdfďż˝
  4. If you look at the original rendering the pedestal looks very much like what was pictured/rendered before.
  5. No, your best chance to get up there is to be in business attire and just act like you belong. You will have to do this during normal business hours. They typically have 1-2 security guards on either side of the elevator banks. Another good idea is to go into the tunnels and take the direct skylobby elevator from there.
  6. I believe you are actually refering to the "why we must go to the moon" speach. The "ask not..." was his inagural speech. I learned that at Texas ; )
  7. It reminds me of some of the apartments that have been built along Lady Bird Lake and Lamar in Austin.
  8. Any updates on this? Lots of rumblings from tenants in lobby areas.
  9. Wow, that sounds like the downtown project dreams are made off. Bike storage and maintenance area! Awesome
  10. I am not going nine rounds on this. Say that you won or digress I don't care. I enjoy these forums and only post information when I believe it comes from a credible source. The main part of my post was about the parking situation that has puzzled most so let's just stay on that.
  11. You are correct on the ownership of the Tower. To be absolutely and technically correct it was a capitol lease. The only thing I don't understand is couldn't they temporarily relocate those people to a different garage at their expense? Then once the new garage is done bring them back. I just shared what was explained to me so don't quote me on it but I considered the source pretty reliable.
  12. I might be able to provide a little more clarification on the parking situation. As has been explained to me, the parking situation is due to a perpetual easement on the property where the Houston Club now stands. Texas Commerce Bank once owned the JPMorgan Chase Tower, Houston Club Building, and 712 Main (Gulf Building). This of course then became JPMorgan Chase property when the banks became one. When JPMorgan Chase decided to sell the properties via contracts (iron clad) they placed a perpetual easement on the Houston Club property where they must always provide parking. So as it stands that property must always provide parking for the bank
  13. It's better than what was/is there but would have preferred taller and more park. I think my dream scenario would have been a OPP style complex at one end with the rest as a park. Then let other developers build high rises around like a mini Central Park but I digress. I look forward to seeing the development unfold and getting more infill. The high rises will come.....I hope
  14. Not to crazy about the location other than its by Discovery Green but just another sign that downtown is growing in all directions. http://blog.chron.com/primeproperty/2014/05/craft-cocktail-bar-to-open-second-downtown-location/
  15. I know this is a taboo subject but it must be asked. Where are people going to park? I imagine valet only similar to the Stephen F Austin Intercontinental in Austin but what garage will they use?
  16. Not sure but it looks like another sliver came off. The opening looks wider
