  1. I know you can go out on top of the Wedge Tower. They have a restaurant/bar called The 43rd, which is on the 43rd floor. It has an outdoor/rooftop patio. Food sucks though. They do not allow cameras, only phones.
  2. I use a 13 year old Canon 1Ds body for 95% of my shots. I also use a 1D Mark IIn which is 10 years old. The wider pics are multiple shots combined into one large shot. The zoom shots were done with a 70-200L with a 1.4 on it. You can also use all of Canon's high end EF zoom lenses with it. If you've ever wondered what the webcam looks like:
  3. The Chase Lobby is one story, but Wells Fargo has a grand two story lobby on two levels (floors 58 and 59). Really cool. It almost has a surreal feeling to it. Not many people get up there/even know about it. Legend has it, the Bank of America Tower also has a very secret and hidden skylobby that looks out towards Heritage Plaza and City hall. I have been on 20 different floors in that building up top, haven't found it yet. Still searching though, I will find it soon enough.
  4. I have been up to the Wells Fargo skylobby about 5 times now since my first post. Just dress nice and you should be fine. Worse case, they just ask you to leave. I was caught once, but had shorts/sandals on and was feeling lucky. The skylobby elevators for Wells Fargo are to your left when you walk in, on the last elevator bank. Chase Skylobby 60th floor: Wells Fargo Lobby 58/59th floor with lots of morning glare:
  5. The demolition company is literally sorting out all the different types of materials at this moment. I was out there for an hour, and I only saw them collecting/ hauling off the major pieces of steel beam today. I also got to talk to one of the foremen. Most of the debris is being recycled. He also said they do not have any dates as to when the garage is coming down. They are going to keep it up for as long as possible. Steel beams being collected and chopped up. Those "jaws" on that excavator can chop those steel beams up at a rate of about 2-3 seconds each cut.
  6. 11/1/14 Someone duck taped a smiley face in that building's window...
  7. We got up there, took the tunnels from the Shell Tower over to WF and went up!
  8. There is a garage at Walker and Main, but you won't see the whole picture with other buildings partially blocking the view. Other than that, there are really no other elevated viewpoints available, unless you know someone.
  9. I had the privilege today of talking to the president of Western Concrete pumping. He says rebar is officially 9ft deep. 14,000 yards of concrete is being brought in tonight as well. Six pumping trucks working, four more on standby at the site. On to the show: First truck rolling in on the North side: Setting up: For this one truck, they had to pump the concrete to the pumping truck. 10 trucks!!! Meeting before the fun begins. Two concrete trucks per pumper. Trucks lining up for the north side pumpers. Night time.
  10. Is there going to be a HAIF concrete pumping party Saturday evening on the adjacent garage rooftop? LOL
  11. Did a panorama of this site today. This is 4 images, stitched into 1 image to form a sweeping view. Nearly 180 degrees of view from left to right.
