    That sucks... I go there for Sesame Hut and their hot and spicy chicken. That's the mall my family went to when I was a kid but I haven't been past the food court in my adult life.

    How long ago was that? They made improvements that has drastically changed the flooding on White Oak.

    He is saying the vertical railings for the balconies do not match with the vertical linings of the panels placed over them. It's like staring at a hung framed picture that is crooked. It's kind of an eyesore.

    I know a few who hate it and plenty who don't care. Some of the residents don't even know what the area is called. Many of them hate it because they are worried about being priced out of the neighborhood when gentrification hits. That's going to happen with or without a name change though. There is also some racial undertones in the conversations I have with my neighbors but I think that is normal. Edit: I saw what you were referencing. Many of the complaints were talking about retaining the culture of the neighborhood. I am not buying that at all. Behind closed doors their main concern is their ability to stay in the area. That is just my observation from the conversations I had though.

    Is this by Moody Park? I know there are a couple projects across the street in their infancy/preconception stages there. There is also something going on behind the original Donerakis.

    I actually like the name Tampico Heights and I was raised in Northside Village and still reside there.

    I'm cool with moats as long as they have retail at water level and it's nautical friendly.

    It's not a great idea for this building to be mix-use. I've seen so many small businesses come and go along N Main and Fulton. It's not worth the risk. There is already a Fiesta, Walgreens, Payless and some eateries in the area. I would just focus on density for now especially since this is supposedly for lower income tenants.

    Def a boring design and it will probably end up looking worse than that but that's okay. This is a first for this neighborhood so I'll take it. I doubt this building is going to attract that many people from outside the neighborhood though. This area prob still looks ominous to the average person.

    I'm well aware of the affinity foreigners have towards cowboy culture. It's why whenever I go to Europe I tell people I'm from Texas because you get a better reception. The success of this park has nothing to do with it's gimmicky theme. The Rodeo is not gimicky because it's the real Mccoy. Their ability to add notable rides over the years is what's going to drive their success.

    The Rodeo and a Texas themed park are completely different. One is a novelty act with rides and the other is a huge event with rides, high profiled musicians and numerous competitive events. Not to mention The Rodeo is temporary and not year round. If anyone thinks a Texas themed park is going to attract that much attention outside of Texas then their delusional. Often times that cowboy history is seen as a negative connotation for Texas.

    That's how exciting the park is going to look even when it's completed.

    This building will be almost a hundred feet taller than First City Tower. Crown included obviously.

    They are. Many companies are contracted by a developer and the office space is needed. They probably do onsite orientation too for new workers who need to be badged.

    If the demand was there then they would be taller. Houston is densifying but the growth is still spread out through numerous neighborhoods.

    I think this is more than sufficient for its intended purposes. The only area without grass is towards the end of the bridge.

    The whole area under the bridge is pretty overgrown when not maintained. Towards the end of the bridge is the only section that prob does not have much grass. I don't know what the other poster is taking about.
