  1. Do you consider Manhattan to be one big "downtown"? Depending on your definition, there are definitely non-downtown sections in Manhattan more impressive than Uptown Houston
  2. Heard you like Going Up, so I put some more going up in your Going Up
  3. With the 5 story crown, I wouldn't be surprised if it stands ~400'. Should be a pretty powerful presence being that close to the loop!
  4. I love how the podium garage complements the building so well. It reminds me of the new residential at Blvd Place from some angles. Hope to see more like this!
  5. Skyhouse always makes me mutter the least enthusiastic "moo." I know it's a great step in transforming DT into a livable neighborhood, but I feel like they could and should do so much better with that land...
  6. Looked at this and said "There we go, that's a nice building". Hopefully the Energy Corridor will be getting more attractive buildings.
  7. This picture is so quintessentially Houston. A brand new McDonalds drowning in a sea of tower cranes....
  8. I count about 52 floors on top of a 3 story podium, with an 8 story crown. Using Transbay Tower as a model (which I'm sure HOK did) to predict height, this bad boy is probably going to be in the 900'+ range! A large chunk of the land (I think excluding the parking lot on the north end and the school on the south end) is owned by 7200 Main Corporation, which is also Coventry Development Corp.
  9. Holy cow, so is this gonna become our new fourth tallest?
  10. golly that's a pretty building. I hope that the tower (when/if they get around to building it) complements the old portion well.
  11. I wonder how much longer that Target has on this earth... Oh, and I can see the top of TCT driving down W Bellfort outside the loop. Pretty cool.
  12. I feel conflicted on this news. On one hand, I think it's great that for so many projects that we do know about, there are still high profile ones that we have no idea about! On the other hand, the NIMBYs disappoint me. If they someone manage to derail a project such as this, I may just lose a bit of faith in Houston's ability to do something grand.
  13. They were just trying to bash our building (and Houston in general) for whatever reason. I wouldn't take that diagram too seriously, especially considering that they got the height of Aqua wrong... (It's actually 860 ft)
  14. These are so great. It really demonstrates a whole lot more than a picture can, and it's nice for those of us who aren't in Houston to be able to appreciate the dynamism of the worksite! Thanks!!
  15. I think they're the most Houston thing around. Out with the old, in with the new. It's kinda our thing.
