They will just restart the bidding process, and this time do it right.

How are the loads on Houston - Seoul? We keep on looking at airlines adding routes, but some rumors say that this one might actually be canceled. I hope not!

According to this United plans on using this terminal too.

Pretty much confirms we should expect another airline to start flying an A380 into Bush Airport by the end of this year.

True, by that Time, the Terminal C North phase will be most likely finished, and with Terminal B North underway.

They will but they will have to lower fares on those routes. Once there are 10 international gates at hobby then southwest will be able to lower fares at the routes they run, probably vacation destinations in the carribbean and mexico and possibly northern south america.

 

I agree they were looking for an excuse to make cuts but at the same time they didn't want to lower any fare if they didn't have to.

The range of 737 goes to Venezuela, Ecuador, Colombia, Panama, Nicaragua, Mexico, El Salvador, and the entire Carribbean. You can't tell me United isn't concerned about that. If it wasn't why did it try SO hard to block hobby from going international?

Maybe because they were making planned capacity cuts...and needed to find an appropriate excuse to make the cuts. I can tell you United is not all that concerned.. they will compete with WN. No Big Deal.

WN is the code for Southwest Airlines. Glad to see Terminal B north start happening soon, as well as the much-needed renovation and expansion of terminal D.

As you may already know, United operates nearly 600 daily flights from IAH to 116 airports across the U.S. and 65 international destinations.

You'd better, IAH is UA's latin America Gateway, UA could be waiting for WN to announce the routes they are gonna fly out of HOU to Latin America, for all we know.

We'll see. Southwest is aiming for South America. That will hurt united for sure.

Terminal B north will happen, but it will be built in phases, Phase 2 could start next year based on the feedback I got from HAS, but the entire project will take 7-10 years.

I can imagine a rivalry between WN and UA. similar to that of Texas A&M vs UT.

Apparently Terminal B actually opened yesterday, with flights beginning today (5/21). I guess there was some misleading info earlier in this thread.

Hmm, Oh well, I will be at IAH soon, so I will get a look.

Once the North side of Terminal B is done and expand Terminal D.  Houston will tear it up.  We are now the most diverse city in the United States.

I think the north side of Terminal B is done at the same time as the expansion of terminal B

Just got back and landing at Terminal A.  So the south side of B is still not complete.  The north side I was told when it is done if for mainline flights.  787,777,767,737.  Once they get more 787's they will announce brand new destinations.  I'm very excited, I LUV Southwest but I have to fly in first class.  I almost get my free upgrades on my flights.  I'm so happy United is getting the brand new Embraer 175 that seats 100 passengers.  I hate the 50 seat ones they have.  Go to united.com and click united hub underneath where you sig in into your account.  Click currents news and see the brand new planes.  You can fly a lot more information for all the airlines on flyertalk.com.

Yes, but mainline and widebody are not the same thing, and I'm pretty sure they aren't going to have 777s flying out of Terminal B. Who knows though, maybe they'll change the plans.

True, In  a rendering on a video, I saw 737s and 757s so you could be right.

I'm here right now at the UA Club getting ready to fly. They have 5 gates operating. 15 later this month. It is different because you go to the gate, then walk outside to this ramp to board the plane. They don't have jet ways. The gate agent said it can a lot faster when they leave to take off. United has 4,238 weekly departures and WN has 890. I think you went to the wrong side of the terminal.

I bet the north side will be better. I think that is when we will see expansion out of IAH.
