  1. While I do think it's interesting that they didn't dig up the original foundation, I do know that this first building going up is only supposed to be 3-4 floors. It's not one of the highrises.
  2. Those are new pillars. The interesting thing is that the foundation they are being placed on is the old foundation from the Pavilion's basement level garage. They simply busted out squares of the old foundation and are building the pillars in those spots.
  3. Then build a new stadium off campus. Geez, that's got to be the most antiquated stadium in the metro.
  4. That's sad. I went to KHS, I'd hate to see the old bird demolished. There's a lot of history in those buildings. The school has been around for over 65 years.
  5. I have a family member visiting Houston next month. They will be staying near the Galleria. I am looking for hotel recommendations. Uptown has a bunch, and I mean alot of hotels. Which one to choose from? I was looking at the Houston Marriott West Loop By The Galleria At 1750 West Loop South. Would this be an okay choice? Thanks for the input!
  6. They do this in many places. In fact, there was an ice skating rink in front of the downtown Foley's for several years in a row in the late 90's/early 2000's. I've even seen a rink on the beach in San Diego.
  7. I got an email from Texans president Jamey Rootes pleading with Texans fans to understand their point of view. I quoted it below. Luckily he also requested feedback, I've provided mine. If you'd like to provide yours, here is the email: fanfeedback@houstontexans.com
  8. I was definitely more confident than when Tracy pulls up for an untimely jumpshot. I think you should always go to the hole in that situation so I was thrilled to see Stevie (anybody really) do it. Even if you miss, you'll usually get a foul called. That's why you do it. I was actually hoping for a 3 point play but we ended up not needing it. It was a classic "Stevie" shot, a little higher on the level of difficulty than needed, but hey, he made it. I'd like to see more of that kind of leadership on this team.
  9. Stevie Stevie!!! Driving to the hole and making things happen. I love it. Plus, Adelman showed him the confidence to stay with him to the end in a tight game!
  10. Olives Martini Bar & Grille has leased 2,060 square feet in Sugar Land Town Square, 2268 Texas.
  11. Great game by the Dynamo! They are a true winner. Here's an interesting fact... the Rockets, Comets, and Dynamo each followed up their first championship with a back-to-back championship.
  12. Great game for the Texans today. They beat a team they should have and didn't have many mental breakdowns. It was good to see AJ back and nice to see Schaub have a good game. If only we could get Ahman back, we'd be in early season form. I was really impressed with our defense as well, they are riddled with injuries but held a good offense to only 10 points! Go Texans! Except for Bob McNair and his Astrodome-redevelopment-killin-ass.
  13. Tonight would've been a good night to throw Stevie out there. We really needed a spark with Tracy out and Mike James having another off night, not to mention Rafer who is always off. Can't Adelman just tell Rafer to never take a 3? Adelman: Rafer, if you're open on the arc, PASS the damn ball!
  14. Looks pretty cool. Here is a satellite of that location, it looks like they'll also be turning part of the first floor of the diagonal office building into retail as well as building the 2 story retail from the ground. Link to satellite image
  15. I think Mike had an off shooting night as did Rafer. The difference is that Rafer shouldn't be taking most of the shots he does anyhow. Also, Tracy was taking some bad shots instead of passing, I wish he'd get over that. Fortunately for the Rockets this year, we have a much deeper bench. When 2 or 3 guys aren't playing well, we still have others that can be the spark. In this game Yao was awesome again, and Bonzi was the guy who came through off the bench. I dare say we might've lost this game last year due to our bench.
  16. That's a huge crowd and a huge win, especially when we were down 1-0 coming into the game. Congrats to the team and the fans!
  17. No, because I don't like the way Luther is playing. He isn't a playmaker like Bonzi, Mike, and Steve. I think Steve is a better fit in this offense. If he can get in shape that is.
  18. He needs to replace Luther Head in the rotation, not Rafer Alston.
  19. Especially when the Texans bring customers to Reliant Park exactly 10 days a year and the Rodeo brings them approximately 30 days a year. Now why, may I ask, do these two groups who only bring in customers 40 out of 365 days out of the year get to decide what happens on the other 325 days?!? It's out-frikkin-rageous!
