  1. 3 new restaurants opening in Sugar Land Town Square. Now Open: Escalante (corner unit across from Cafe Express) Swirll (next to Escalante) Coming Soon: Taisho (first floor of Minute Maid headquarters) Charming Charlie (old Bombay location) Facelogic (first floor of Minute Maid headquarters) I W Marks Jewelers (on the square) Loggia.food.sports.music (next to Tacone Flavor Grill)
  2. I would agree that we could be much worse off. I think there are things to criticize Drayton for, however I also think he's been our best owner ever. He has made big moves to get us to the World Series. We may not be in contention every year, but we've been in contention more often than not the last 10 years. Thank your lucky stars you're not from N. Texas and stuck with the Rangers. They don't even have a roof in the summer. I still don't know how they sell tickets.
  3. That's what I said in #2. Thanks for the support. You're right, everyone is ruder online. I try not to be by respecting others opinions and not mocking them.
  4. 1) I find it difficult to believe that you've never heard of the "Rainforest Cafe" as it has been very popular for at least a decade. 2) You are of course entitled to your opinion, but don't hate on the restaurant like it's crap just because it's not your style. I don't understand why some people have to go off on certain products as if they're holier than thou. I'm sure there are people everywhere who would think your favorite product or restaurant is crap, but they don't feel the need to tell you all the time. Odd.
  5. Kids love it. Where else can you go and eat in a rainforest? It's nothing like Chili's, you get the thunderstorm every 30 minutes, the animals move, food it ok but you go for the experience. I think it'd be great to have one in the Galleria because you could shop while you wait. It would make the wait much more bearable. We do the same thing with the Cheesecake Factory when that wait gets long.
  6. Not to mention poor decisions in the 4th quarter. The next time I see him hold the ball at the top of the arc and let the shot clock run down before pulling up for a 30% shot I'm going to scream! Again!
  7. This team is sunk if T-Mac doesn't stop playing like a lazy SOB. And I'm a die hard...
  8. This is great news! I did hear recently that the land was for sale. Had a developer bought it, we surely would've lost a beautiful amenity for the city. Kudos to H-Town for saving this urban jewel!
  9. Sounds like Red Robin prices, man is that place overpriced!
  10. Are you talking about the Oceanaire Seafood Room? M&S is at Uptown Park.
  11. Damn, they looked good. Sure there were the typical 2nd game mistakes, but I can really see what this team can be. Hell, in the 4th quarter TMac didn't even play the whole time, Scola didn't play, Alston didn't play, we won with Artest (the man), Yao, and Aaron Brooks (was supposed to be injured). If we can win with that group, then we should be able to beat anyone with our starters. BTW, we truly have a Big 3 now, Artest was awesome. No longer do we have to worry where points will come from. 3 options who can score 20+ night in night out. Wow, it feels good. PLEEZ stay healthy Rockets!
  12. That's my point though, it's not a name, it's a description. It's too vague to be a name. But you're right, that's my opinion.
  13. I agree wholeheartedly. Why diminish such a beautiful, vibrant area by referring to it as the "area" by the mall. "Area" is such a vague term. Uptown does have distinct boundaries as mentioned earlier in the thread. Should we start calling downtown the "Houston Pavilions Area?" The second-most well known part of the city should have a meaningful name. Whether or not you like the term "Uptown" (which I do), you've got to admit that "Galleria Area" is an injustice to the area.
  14. Even in these tough times, Sugar Land Town Square is bustling... Another mixed use office building is being added to Town Sqare. PCD Announces Third Office Building In Sugar Land Town Square
  15. The only thing I can compare this loss to is the Oilers loss to Buffalo. The only silver lining is that we weren't in the playoffs. The playoffs...LOL. That's something we won't have to worry about for a while. I can't believe they collapsed like that after such a well played game. To give a game away like that has to be like a sucker punch to the gut. I don't know what Kubiak can possibly to do motivate those players now. I've been a fan since McNair bought the team with that $700 million check, but I've never been more disappointed than after this game. Losing that game, that way, was completely embarrassing.
  16. The Lakers should really be our only competition this year. The Mavs are declining and made a bad move by firing Avery, buh buy Mavs. The Spurs are declining, lost Brent Barry to us, all their guys are older, and Manu is injured. The Suns are declining, Shaq is slow and they lost a good coach. We just have to worry about New Orleans and the Jazz. I think the Jazz are a rung below. The Hornets might cause problems though. Go Rockets! It's Time!
  17. "University of South Texas" was proposed. We're not even in South Texas I vote that guy off the island.
  18. I think a sound stage is a bad idea. Why would a Hollywood director come to Houston to film a movie? I can see maybe 1 movie a year coming to the Astrodome if it was converted. That isn't nearly enough ROI for the citizens of Houston. Bring the hotel and let's have a place that can bring in out of towners and convention goers and their mighty dollars.
  19. I like this deal. We all know the Rockets need a leader, someone with passion, someone aggressive. I think Artest can be that guy. Let T-Mac slide back out of the leadership role and focus on his game. Let Artest be vocal. I really like this move.
  20. Yes, this has been in the plans for a long time. What sux is that this building looks to be built on top of the "parkland" that the COH just took from the old guys.
