  1. I love to be quoted. My risks are along the line of jumping out of planes, not slowly killing others around me with my bad habits. Authority should be challenged and subverted if it is hurting people (not businesses). Please use quotation marks and 'kingkirbythegreatoftexas says/said' in the future.
  2. Grids move traffic better. Just ask ems and the police and fire departments which they like better.
  3. Why would you want to ban smoking when it's so glamorous?!
  4. Yes it was. That's why I went Friday morning instead. It was right there on the website, I was told when I called, and told again when I was purchasing my tickets.
  5. I saw the exhibit yesterday morning. It was very fascinating...but a little icky. I would highly recommend seeing it. Just don't eat before you go. It was a little unsettling to see the human body in this condition and the various positions. The full body specimans are right there. You could touch them (I'm sure your not supposed to) but most organs, bones, fetuses, and most sliced body sections are under glass. The plastinates (the whole-body specimens) are the most striking. One man is holding his own skin in one hand, another is on a cell phone, and three plasinates are at a table playing poker. There is a plastinate woman hanging upside-down while another is doing a sort of royal curtsey/bow. The biggest of the plastinates is the man on the horse. This one is the most impressive just for its shear size alone. The fetuses really made me think about my views on abortion. After seeing the diseased livers and lungs, you'll never want to smoke or drink again the rest of your life. There are lots of things I left out, so go see it for yourself. I'm glad I did. It makes you really want to lead a much healthier lifestyle.
  6. Palms don't provide the cover from the elements (sun and rain) that would be nice in that area.
  7. It's the 360. Spring is seven or eight blocks to the west.
  8. Change the name. I'm sure we can all get behind the Houston Beige. Or, The Beige, because Houston might offend someone.
  9. That's true, but probably an exception to the rule. Here's the funny thing. I think country/western/texas acts should be the ones playing at the rodeo, but Sheryl Crow is the only act I'll be able to see this year. FYI...I've always said that me, Sheryl Crow, and a strap-on dildo equals happiness forever.
  10. So, then shouldn't jazz or blues or hip-hop or opera or any kind of music festival/event play every kind of music? They would make more money money money. NO they shouldn't. The appropriate music goes with the appropriate event.
  11. The "Brokeback" line up goes on in the crowd, the barns, and behind the scenes (not talkin bout sex). I have met at least one hot cowboy at very show I've ever gone to that I have gone out with. I look forward to meeting my hot small town gay cowboys every year.
  12. The Village People are for the heteros. My people wouldn't mind seeing some Justin Timberlake, BEP, Gwen, Madonna, or Judy Garland "Brokeback Mountain" line up.
  13. It's the rodeo, so I want to see country and texas music acts.
  14. No. I mean a mascot, like Rockets, Texans, Astros, Longhorns, Owls, Aggies, etc. So would a team be AC Houston Hurricanes or only AC Houston?
  15. So, is that a team's way of saying they're too cool to have a mascot, or do FC/AC teams still have mascots?
