  1. as someone who may have some infuence on what happens to that old, ugly car lot on lockwood and harrisburg, across the street from the old s&s. what do yall suggest for a business there? i was thinking a full service gas station, car wash, inspection, food mart type set up. any other suggestions would be appreciated. thanks.

  3. i passed by the site yesterday. constructions is still in its infancy stage. i see the potential, location wise. it is a 5 minute drive down navigation to minute maid park. and the site is not inside "the hood". it's basically on a wide, commercial industrial thouroghway which doesn't pose any traffic congestion issues. still the problem of available retail in the area, but hopefully the lockwood/harrisburg site will soon turn into the big retail shopping center it is planned for. it maybe a little ahead of it's time, but time will catch up and this area will be very desirable IMO in the near future.
  4. it does seem to be a bit premature for that area. 79 units? wow.
  5. i don't see the numbers as too good for the rehabber in this case, but at the end of the day the rebabbing of this house is a good thing for the neighborhood. you have to give credit to anyone willing to take that project on.
  6. i had the unexpected privelage yesterday to speak to a higher up in the mayor's office. he said the golf course is safe.
  7. hey, i live on stillwell too. just moved here in november. my wife and i love the location. she is an agent for carlos garcia realty and i have car dealership off telephone and i-45.
  8. maybe it was the woman dressed in black who flew into her garage on a broom that sparked the rumor
  9. the original ninfas and el jardin are mine and my wife's favorite in the east side. we also like del sol - always fresh and reasonably priced. it is not a mexican restaurant, but texas land and cattle in front of gulfgate 30 has an excellent steak and enchilada dinner. we highly recommend it. loma linda is fair but the portions are too small for the price. never was a big fan of doneraki's, food doesn't justify the prices. and on more than one occasion, the silverware was dirty. don carlos is ok too, but also too expensive for the quality of food you get.
  10. my wife and i will be calling the neighborhood of Brookline home very soon. this neighborhood is off of griggs and 45 or griggs and telephone. we found a remodeled 4plex that is rented out and will practically pay for the mortgage payment. we hope to build a home in country club in the next couple of years.
  11. i'm just gettin into real estate investing. this is the area i'm concentrating on. i believe this area is prime for growth.
  12. i'm pretty familiar with southeast. living and working in the area for years, i am totally comfortbable in this side of town, and will probably make it my long time residence for the foreseeable future. the side of town i fear most is by far southest/bellaire/fondren areas. it seems most of the time i see a shooting or violent crime in the newspaper it is from the southwest side. but one thing is true, there are bad areas on all sides of this great city of ours, all sides. the least dangerous maybe the straight west side, not southwest or northwest, but straight west down memorial, i-10 area all the way to katy. just my 2 cents.
  13. just checked out the house on fair oaks. wow. you are right. 2500 sq. feet, beautiful neighborhood, it is not idylwood, be better value than idylwood, imo. this house in idylwood would be over $225k imo. this one won't last long. my wife and i actually want to build a house in this neighborhood. we both work close by and it's a nice, quiet, neighborhood which i believe will appreciate better than idlywood and eastwood over the next several years. feel free to call my wife nevermore if you would like her to show it to you. 713-906-5389. she works about a mile away, so any time that is convenient for you.
  14. also there are no maintenance fees in our townhome in 4th ward. and though we are connected to other townhomes, they are very well insulated, you never hear anything from your neighbors.
