  1. Get real! They have been shopping as a family for Xmas in Houston were ever it may be. The shift of course was to The Galleria once that was built. He is glad the shift and other choices will be in the downtown.
  2. Yes, they do if they are managed well. That is a complete generalization I have to say. In order for the city to achieve density it need to have a great mix of many things, and rental properties are in need too. You can't have one homogeneousness type of mold to build a city. It is like a bouquet of flowers. Yes one flower alone is beautiful, but many forming a bouquet is diversely beautiful and pleasing to the eyes. Additionally you may like some of the flowers. Others may like another flower better then the one you like. I well I like the whole bouquet. Ahhh! it is nice to receive flowers he-he I Just got some delivered from my-other-half
  3. I was in Lufkin this weekend for a wedding and I was talking to one of the guest. He stopped me and asked me if they had broken ground yet I said to what he said the pavilions downtown. He is all excited about that and cant wait for it to be built. He tells me that his family drives down to Houston's Galleria for Xmas shopping, and that his family has been doing so since the early part of the last century. Of course they have not shopped downtown for some time now and if this project gets built the tradition of shopping in houston downtown will finally continue. He thinks this project is wonderful. Of course, I must explain he is the exception, for his family has been part of Lufkins well to do for many years. For those of you who don't know Lufkin is a small city of about 35,000 in its city limits and the area although a little depressed by the exciting of Lufkin Industries the town has all the typical shoppes you can find in the Houston area.
  4. This place I think was opened in the early 90's the last time I think I drove by it I think it was back in 1998 or maybe 2000.
  5. Thank you! So the point is y'all the Houston Pavilions will have a slow start. We must remain focused, and get the east end of downtown redeveloped, and the south of downtown area not Midtown. OR please don't call that area SODO. But with a development like this Houston's downtown will flourish, and patience is a virtue.
  6. I can't recall the name, but all I remember that Pepsi was one of the sponsors or they did a cross promotional with the park much like Coka-Cola used to do with AstroWorld That water park look like it is new? I have not beeen in that area for a few years now. I think it has been about 7 years.
  7. So, Mr. largeTEXAS Anything new on this project? When will it be announced or can you not let us know at this time?
  8. Was it on the west side of town ofrf of Beechnut St and Eldridge. Is this it:
  9. No, that is just a strip mall, with a gas station and several comic book stores for the crowd at the movie theater. And maybe a mommy and me day camp.
  10. A little better. At least unlike (GISM) Galleria Is just Some Mall, it does not make me think of the smelly stuff in that other part of town called: Stinky Dina a.k.a. Pasadena Houston
  11. So be sideds this in the above we have these going up in MidTown: what other projects are currently in the plans? I see quite a few signs up for redevelopments and town homes but I cant find any renderings on the net
  12. Well they like to be called Upper Kirby. Go figure! This is awesome I hope it is successful and so other developers can follow this great example. I know there are plenty of other project out there inside the loop that have done this, but specifically speaking, I wish the developers building the Target retail center near Rice Military will redo there plans to be more like or similar to this.
  13. That is too funny! I understood what you meant before your explanation but I guess I wanted it clarified. Anyhow how about naming it EOGA Houston East Of Galleria Houston
  14. OK other then the rail road and two streets will it be a seamless landscape. was it not discussed for a while I think only considered that a toll road would go along were the rail road is now and the rail road would be redirected to another spot? I think it was considered but I have not heard of it anymore. the road was to go underground through the park and be elevated along the rest of the way.
  15. do they have a website or renderings? will it be a walkable neighborhood development meant for mixed-use? will it be easy to accommodate rail to the new development? will it fill in the gap between the Highland Village and this location? will it be a seamless transition landscape after it is built? Will this area be identified as the Galleria or something else all together?
  16. I was been waiting and hopping you would say something largeTEXAS. the latest comments from these guys are well I wont comment on that. These renderings are great! now if we could have a ground breaking that would make me the happiest
