  1. I was thinking the same thing, But the Angelika is for the art type films, and the seats could be replaced with more comfortable ones. If they did that then I would go there more often. But I think he was saying a regular Cineplex may be needed
  2. Yes! Page Numero TEN Well No Hooter's on that list yet? How about a really great steak house If not Outback Steak House How about Houston
  3. YEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GREAT news! I have been busy not looking at new post in the HIAF, but anyhow great news.
  4. Oh by the way if you have not noticed KJB I can not stand surface parking lots. I think they scare the urban city landscape.
  5. KJB you think that being that MC is in such a small spot surrounded by neighborhood that are white and affluent, these neighborhood don
  6. What the area is lacking is interconnecting streets from Memorial City to Town & Country. They have them but no major streets. Right now you have to either drive on the feeder road of the I-10, or drive through the maze of neighborhood streets. If this problem is solved anything is possible. Oh and that takes leadership and economic incentive. i.e. Developers that are willing to do this and city officials willing allocate funds for infrastructure to improve the area. How ever I don
  7. PAGE NINE COOL *EELIMON expresses a montage of emotions* Hey redscare were is my smirks no smirks!
  8. Oh please! I think a building with Luxury apartments would yield higher profits then Valet parking. Valet parking can be anywhere just as long as they allow for the space. kjb434 picture this all the parking lots adjacent to the mall along Westheimer and Post Oak converted into mixed use residential project. With ground floor shops facing the mall along Neiman on down to the Cheesecake Factory and all the way down to the old Lord and Taylor location. Then the ground floor shops could be connected to the mall by way of a bridge to the second floor where more shops could be built. Think of ground level shops along the street could resemble that of a denser city. I can already imagine a Starbucks on the opposite corner of the one already on Westheimer and Post Oak. Of course, parking for valet could bet placed in the under ground portions of the building and residents could have parking in a parking structure above first and second floor shops. Above that have the residential of the luxury apartments could have their amenities like a gym spa and all that cool stuff. Which Macy
  9. I see what you are talking about now after i looked and compared darn I can't believe that they did a news story (channel 11) Have you ever been to the mall in downtown San Diego it looks like and awesome puzzle of walkways and different landings decorated with Spanish tile and some Islamic motifs. Are we on page nine on this thread Yet?
  10. But do they have a police substation; at the Katy mills the police have a substation as a store front. That is what I had in mind. Why not build residential over the surface parking lots. I know some have parking under ground and that would mean that they could fill in under utilized vertical space. Like on the corner of Westheimer and post oak adjacent to the Neiman
  11. Can any one tell me why EDI is looked at so unfavorably? Other then how ugly the back end of The Mercer Condominiums is. I just hope some of the cool architecture features don't get washed out of the plans. From what i can see from the pictures the facade of the building will be pleaseing to the eye if not too ornate. at least it looks like it will be aestheticly desirable.
  12. U really are not asking that? Mixed use is when a project will be built with multipurpose as in ground floor retail, above office space and/or residential. if the galleria added residential space it would no longer just be a mall it would be a tiny city that could be called "mixed use" the galleria already has office, retail, entertainment, Hotel, restaurants, and service oriented businesses like Nail shops. I think the galleria could use a police substation if it does not already have one
  13. On the bright side in my opinion the buildings architecture goes great with the new homes going up in the surrounding neighborhood
  14. I know that Redscare I just cant stand that a negative effect of this was slow traffic right there. I cant stand it! I cant wait for it to be moved They could at least move the front door of the Greyhound so that it faces Fannin St this way the traffic on the one lane running alongside the rail can run smoothly.
  15. I thought they were going to reuse the building is the NM the onlyu building that is being torn down or is the whole building being torn down? I thought that they were going to build a tech center there.
  16. I drive by this building where this sign is now posted and I can tell you this is a new sign. The sign is now at the corner of Gray and Milam. I always thought that central square would make a great location for loft apartments. Plus the space on the ground level looks like it is screaming to become primed real estate for mix-use. However, this probably won't work until the Greyhound station is moved. The Greyhound Bus Station is a hub for recently released prison inmates from Huntsville. Plus if many you did not already know, but the fact is that cities up north during the winter ship their homeless on Greyhound to cities in the south so that they don't become victims to old time winter and die. Lets face Greyhound is the "preferred" mode of intrastate and interstate travel for the have-nots. I am just ranting because I think it was poor planning when they decided to place the Metro rail line just outside the front door of the Greyhound station. Every time I drive down Main St. into the downtown there is always some jerk driving really slow like their getting ready to mow down Greyhound patrons on a drive-by-shooting. It really drives me crazy when the light is green and the car in front of me decided it is time to stop and unload passengers in front of the Greyhound. I really am convinced that these people can
  17. There is a picture on display at the one of the windows of the old sakowitz department store nearest to this building.
