  1. This is Building 1 right? pic from May. 20150525_163004 by Not.Larry Dierker, on Flickr
  2. The Dallas guy is kinda right. for the business travelers that will be the bulk of riders and who's employer will pay for rentals and transportation it's not a big deal. but for the average citizen of Dallas that may want to visit Houston for sporting events, conventions, concerts, museums, performing arts, TMC, The Zoo, college, The Rodeo, or just about any recreational activity the NW Mall location is really lame. No matter what they build there. Which will probably be a couple of crappy hotels, a couple of rental car places, a starbucks, a chick-fil-a, and a Pappasito's.
  3. Much drug use, prostitution, and fighting go down here. It often provides entertainment for my buddy and me while drinking beers on his 2016 Main balcony. I've seen some crazy stuff.
  4. Worst forward ever. Play some D dude. Seriously though, seems like every bar and restaurant in town has at least a few craft options nowadays. Karbach Hopadilo is everywhere it seems. For variety and number of craft beers available, I don't think anything compares to the classic Flying Saucer. but it's probably far from being the most interesting place to drink. I've never drank a beer I didn't like. but my favorite go-tos are really heavy imperial stouts and really bitter IPA's. My latest favorite is Saint Arnold's Boiler Room Berliner Weisse. It's a sour wheat that is very sour. The waitress warned that it wasn't good and that nobody liked it, so I had to try it. None of my group liked it, but I loved it and sometimes get a strong craving for it even though it's only 3.7%. My favorite non local brewers are Green Flash, Founders, and Stone. Houston beers that i prefer are 8th Wonder's Hopston and Buffalo Bayou Brewing Co.'s More Cowbell.
  5. No blasé here. I'm quite fond of this building. The trifecta of this building, The Post Oak, and Arabella will be spectacular. Best boom non-continuance ever!
  6. Is the Baylor college of Medicine expansion pictured above an actual planned expansion? It appears much more detailed than the other nonexistent towers in the rendering.
  7. With the couple of Pearl updates today, is there any info on whatever became of the Pearl on Helena?

  9. The edge of the property is less than a mile from the rail line. there are now buses on this part of Bellfort and as was pointed out earlier the metro rail test line runs along the southern edge of the property and could in theory be utilized for the site.
  10. This also encompasses the notorious booby trapped and guarded homeless fort in the woods. wouldn't consider this site the middle of nowhere though. It is ideal for such an endeavor. Close to TMC. Close to 610. Close to 90. Close to light rail. Convenient to 288.
  11. Why settle for either extreme? The models in all the adds at ROD will look better in a $200 suit from the Men's Warehouse than most consumers will look in a really expensive suit from ROD. No reason to cheap out at walmart or overspend at ROD. plenty of quality can be found in the middle ground. But $200 tee shirts and $300 jeans is just silly. looking at you vince.
  12. Isn't 4820 the address for the oaks? Hope they use a different design for the Ridge and the Park.
  13. The cube is probably a placemarker. But the location would match up in this pic (Urbanizer posted a year ago) with the location marked proposed full service hotel
  14. A few others within dt that are a short walk/taxi/uber/greenlink/rail ride/bike share away. Christian's Tailgate Flying Saucer (i cant be the only person that likes the food here) Kramers build your own pizza coming to skyhouse new restaurant coming to the Savoy Holiday Inn Pappas BBQ Jackson St. BBQ
