  1. It was just a number thrown out by me when I was saying what I wanted at the Macy's spot. There are no plans (that I know of) for anything 40 stories.
  2. Yeah what he said. But regarding Sharpstown mall, why did they paint it that repulsive green and blue checkered design? It is on the facade left of Foleys.
  3. Yeah I accidentally posted before I was done. Maybe saying up in a few minutes wasn't the best choice of words when talking about a new building.
  4. Inspired by the comment about the ninth page, here are the top 6 threads of new HAIF. -------------------------------------------------------------------replies/views 6. Next U.s. 5. Couldn't it be both. Retail on the bottom two floors with access from the street. Then have like a 40 story tower on top of it. The main thing Galleria III needs is easier access.
  6. Where did you hear the first thing? I thought it was going to be more than four places. Though a large bookstore would be nice. I worry though about B. Dalton's though in Galleria III. That was always my hangout when I was younger and would get dragged to the galleria by girl friends.
  7. Wasn't a list of tenants (at least some) already mentioned? Also I guess this was the big news that was predicted.
  8. The sign on Borders says 27,000 sf for lease. Is that the size of the little area where you take the escalators to, but is blocked off right now (I can't think of another way to describe it). Does anyone know how big Borders is?
  9. Kind of, but this seems to be more about the history. So I guess just keep both.
  10. Yes it is, but they said they are keeping splashtown open.
  11. "Look for a major announcement in two weeks" So that was 11 days ago, if there is one they have three days.
  12. ^^yeah SO did anyone save it? I was hearing how it was so bad and then when it is gone I hear it is pretty much the same renderings as those in the thread.
  13. Great historical pics. I have always liked old construction pictures. Also I guess the pics with people in the stands was one of the first games (or at least an early one). Seeing as the roof panes are still clear.
  14. There was a ruling a while back. It doesn't really mean it will happen, but it has more of a chance after this. Here is some more info http://www.houstonarchitecture.info/haif/i...wtopic=2569&hl=
  15. What is Sesame St.? I know it is a show, but is it an amusement park. And I hope they don't build a disney park near downtown. This is one of those times LT. AWACS old saying "they should have built this DT" does not apply. Plus the land would be too expensive, they would just take the smart move and build further out. Not to mention you need to get these people to sell their homes. Unless the Supreme court finds that they aren't as proffitable as disney. j/k
  16. Not quite as new, but clearer Astroworld An overview of the area. Edges are a little blurry, but if you want I get get a clearer one of that area.
  17. Thanks for the links. I am surprised the value went down in '05 seeing as how the med center seems to keep expanding south. And Pineda do you really think it will be a parking lot or park and ride? I mean with the area booming along with the TMC expanding, and being adjacent to the rail line I can't see it going to waste as a parking lot. I am sure a developer will want in on the action. History may prove me wrong, but I hope not.
  18. Sorry to hear how quickly conditions there turned sour. Hopefully the most inconsiderate residents will move out, making the building a nice place again.
  19. Ok that makes more sense. Sorry about the misunderstanding. Do you have the link to it just wondering (since I am lazy).
  20. What do you mean mean by Tilman's compound? His office off of 59?
  21. Does anyone know how much longer it will be open? I may try and go. Also now that I think about it, it has probably been more than a decade since I last went.
  22. Border's at meyerland is closed?!?! I wonder why. I guess I will try and check it out tomorrow. I like other bookstores more, but it was really convenient and I think the closest to me.
  23. Not likely seeing as the park was an ammenity close by to attract people to the hotel. Now that is one less reason to stay at the astrodome hotel. Seeing as it is being marketed as real estate and not a theme park it will probably become something with medical offices and possibly residential. I hope it is a good development whatever they build. Especially with its proximity to the rail line.
