  1. "Just heard from a inside source that Alamo Drafthouse or Studio Movie Grill wil be locating in the SE parcel of land at the Pearland Town Center." Now that is AWESOME news! Now why did I build that theater in my home....
  2. More Banks! Aren't these guys taking a beating right now? How in the world can 8 banks all survive within 2 miles of each other on the west side of 288?
  3. Norton's has the best draft beer selection in Pearland. Also have a separate bar with wine and speciality martinis. Wild Geese Tavern has a nice interior, with a pseudo-separated bar and a back area w/ pool tables. Centercourt is always hopping on Friday, but it's pretty small. great pizza and decent beer on tap and bottled. BJs has a good bar area. Their own beer is decent. Haven't been to the Sam's Boat here. Nice patio for when the weather is good though.
  4. disappointing. guess I'll have to wait for Water Lights to get some better dining choices.
  5. I'm in SCR in one of the neighborhoods where homes originally were built in the $160-$260k range, the vast majority being <$200k. My neighborhood is extremely diverse. Just going down my street from the houses I know: Black Asian White Black (was white originally) White Asian Black Black Asian White White Black Indian Asian/Hispanic White Hispanic Hispanic Black South American? French Canadian? (white) Then there is a cul-de-sac where 4 of the 6 are Black, other 2 white. It's probably higher % black then most would expect. We like the neighborhood quite a bit.
  6. Oh. hooray. Taco Cabana. Will be a nice nightcap after I stuff my disgusting face at Golden Corral (yes, they are building one by Sam's boat). More crappy chains!
  7. Beer selection is now VERY good. Wine selection is good, but their organization leaves a lot to be desired.
  8. Thanks for the update on the beer. I've been trying to find the beer/wine manager when I'm in there to ask him what the deal is. ALL the other HEBs in this state have VERY solid beer selections, so I was pretty stunned w/ the selection to this point. To make matters worse, the liquor store near work stopped carrying the only brand I would buy from them - Bridgeport. In fact, they don't carry a SINGLE IPA in the entire store. I'm hoping for Bridgeport, Full Sail, and Sierra Nevada selections. That will make me happy.
  9. If they get almost any of the restaurants on that survey it would be a HUGE coup. Most of those places are way to high end for what I'm afraid this will turn out to be.
  10. Beer selection stinks. (very few micro brews like most HEBs have) Wine by end of year. Steak prices are ABSURD. Seafood selection is pretty good. Produce is pretty awesome. Cafe on the run, bakery, cheese / deli, sushi is pretty cool. Furniture / home stuffs / electronics are kind of crappy.
  11. I think BJ's beer is poor to average, but I do like their pizza, and most of their other food has been ok. Pearland Town Center is the one over at Pearland Pkwy and 8, right? Wasn't it going to have Virgin Mega Store and even some mid rise condos like Sugar Land Town Square?
  12. HEB just started construction on NW side of 518 and 288. People currently shop a the Kroger's, Randall's, Wal Mart, or Super Target.
  13. There is a sign up near the Bass Pro shops construction at the Spectrum exit off 288 showing the "Waterlight District" with a water taxi in the picture. Anyone know about this Woodlandsesque development?
