  3. There were some recent comments/questions about the location of upcoming buildings, so I'm reposting the last site plan that I remember seeing. Last month the Texas A&M Board of Regents was considering "Authorization to Negotiate and Execute a Ground Lease of 2.6252 Acres of Land and Other Agreements Related to the Construction of Up to Two Research and Educational Buildings on the TMC3 Campus". Then there was a TABS filing a couple weeks ago for "Industry Building Parcel D Bld B". https://www.tdlr.texas.gov/TABS/Search/Project/TABS2022020772

  10. It's strange to me the McNair Tower is on the potential Hotel Equinox/ROD, and that the Brava is taking over some Afton Oaks lots. Especially since both have full blown renderings on their actual locations. Also weird there's like a 432 Park Ave in between them in... West Oaks? The location for Memorial City North looks correct (given the building to the east is 10100 Katy Freeway).

  12. I think this garage is expected to serve the several large buildings they want to build around it so it makes sense to me I feel. I don't think metro rail is extensive enough yet to say the average person who works there can get around on it exclusively.

  13. Is it just me, or is it ironic that a project that's always flogging its environmental/new energy/futurist visions in public is building a parking garage next to a light rail line?

  14. That’s a fine idea and something I wouldn’t mind seeing as well. I would be willing to bet that the mechanical penthouse, along with the level below, get changed for the better. This is the first real round of budgeting and design review, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

  15. UsLiving/Vero Sade needs to hurry up and demo the 3 remaining houses and 2 garage apartments. Vagrants have moved in to the garage apartment behind Bacco's Wine bar. They were redecorating as I walked by. Last week I saw an online report of a break in at the old hair salon next to it. Bacco's closed several weeks ago. There are at least 3 COH yellow warning signs of discrepancies for trash removal, graffiti, weeds and to remove the old bus.

  16. Installing the storm water detention system. I think they already had the fuel tanks removed before it became an auto repair shop.

  19. I think what happened is that they acquired the lot next door, and then they had to submit for new permits to change the layout. The ended up installing the underground tanks on the acquired lot next door. I hope this progress is a sign of renewed momentum. During the lull, Crockett got repaved between Houston and Taylor/Sawyer. Additionally, Coastline Pizza (across the street) should be opening soon. And Houston's first medical marijuana store just opened up next door. 20. Neither one of those apartment buildings were in very good shape. Trust me this is all good! Considering Lake Flato is the architect I have no doubt that if they felt that the homes would have been a better fit they would have come up with a plan to include them. They have always worked to save recyclable buildings. This will be a huge success.

  26. Completely pointless trivia: Driving a 1980 Volkswagen Rabbit at 55MPH on I-80 westbound in western Pennsylvania, at the top of the last big hill before Ohio, if you throw it into neutral at the start of the song, you will coast across the border into Ohio right at the big crescendo. This is what we did for entertainment before the internet.

  29. The FHWA Is part of the the Department of Transportation , the Secretary of which was appointed by and serves at the pleasure of the president of the United States. He is ultimately responsible. The current plans have never been completely final, to be built without shot further change. But my bet all along has been that this go forward with very minor changes and TXDoT pressing to do things they were already planning/obligated to do.
