  1. From this morning .... she's definitely a beauty. This combined with the Texas Tower will have big impacts on this part of Downtown.

Retail Leasing Flyer for Texas Tower Chicago-based Italian restaurant Etta will take one of the spaces; likely Texas @ Travis More good news: The same company bringing Etta to Texas Tower has also leased the Pavilion space (the round part) for another concept. https://www.bizjournals.com/houston/news/2021/06/16/what-if-syndicate-etta-restaurant-texas-tower.html?utm_source=st&utm_medium=en&utm_campaign=ae&utm_content=ho&ana=e_ho_ae&j=24169560&senddate=2021-06-16

  4. certainly better than a giant parking lot. It's going to take them a long time to reach that area. I think its like Phase 4 or 5. Probably a 5-10 years down the road.

  8. east, but yeah, I imagine it was a 'hey, we're going to build this walking bridge'. then everyone came out and threw all sorts of expectations, and other requirements, then they just kind of backed out of the idea.

  9. If it was 20 years ago, this would have been the end of her career. TV reporters are a dime a dozen and there are always younger and more attractive reporters who are willing to work for nothing coming up every year. But Hecker is probably going to end up getting elevated to a national job at OAN or Blaze or end up with a youtube channel making millions. What is amazing is that her big whistleblower story is just pathetic. Her manager told her she didn't want to run bitcoin stories at 5-6pm because the ratings would be bad due to low income black viewers not being interested in bitco

  13. Thats what you get when you been out of Houston this long, the first to go is direction haha. Appreciate the rebound. It probably wasn't even other people. I imagine it was explored at some point in the design process. Why not right? But like most things the devil is in the detail, and upon further code anaylsis, research into stakeholders that would have to be involved, the engineer who was like...really? are you sure, etc... Permitting would have been a pain. Who knows whether it was a client idea or architect idea too.

  14. I was actually just thinking about how all of the work seemed to slow down within a week of my prediction. 6 months later and I would still guess one to two months left on the street work! However, the final product is starting to show through and it's going to be quite the upgrade.

  15. Was nice while it lasted. Another kick would be welcome, as they seem to have stalled in the Webster/Hadley block for weeks now.

  16. Haven't found any pics yet but found this mention in The Montrose Voice (Feb 26, 1982) on page 5 (third paragraph of "Montrose Mouth"): "The offices of the MONTROSE VOICE will be at 3317 Montrose, third floor, starting next week." "(The 3317 Montrose Building is across the street from Kroger - the building that houses Kwik Kopy.)"

  17. Would make sense the CDC is outbidding to put notices to the public. We have a local news reporter trying to push a conspiracy theory. Which one deserves air time?

  18. One thing it does is create a wonderful layered textural wall that had gaps before they built the Brava. It fills in the gap that was between Market Square Tower and Republic Calpine buildings from the east and north like coming in from 59 north or I10 east. Brava's eastern facade is much more exciting than the western side. I think this is definitely the most exciting small highrises to be added to our skyline in a long time. One of the nice things about viewing from the northeast is you can still see both the Esperson and the Gulf buildings, while enjoying all the shiny new toys on the nort

  23. do some of y'all not know the difference between a local news channel and a national news channel? Apparently she recorded footage of the (probably also now fired) sales manager of Fox 26 telling how the CDC is buying ads pushing the covid crap, and from what I gather (the sales manager couldn't put two coherent sentences together), the CDC is outbidding other advertisers. These purchases are affecting the news content
