  1. Working on and unloading the rebar on Sunday. I wonder where and how many tower cranes this will have. My guess would be 2 of them and probably on the wings on either side of the high rise.

  7. Went to visit today. Had a million questions for the front desk. A Hanover staff member was in the office and overheard my conversation. As she was leaving for the day she approached me asking if I would like a showing.. mentioned I'd like to see a 1 bedroom, but my girlfriend wants me to look at 2 bedrooms. Said she'll show me both! Obviously, I think, both of us know I couldn't afford this. She was just showing me around, since I was so intrigued. Hanover BLVD Place tour tomorrow!! 🍺

  13. After reading the Downton Districts 2018 Update, I saw something about the mural and wanted to see for myself. “Produce Row,” a sprawling, 7,000-SF mural that spans three levels now adorns Main&Co mixed-use devel- opment. designed and painted by local artist duAL, and conceptualized by uP Art Studio, the mural at the intersection of Main and commerce streets is a tribute to commerce Street’s history as the site for Houston’s first farmers market in the 1870s. Main&co is home to the cottonmouth club; etRo nightclub; Lilly&Bloom; and a contemporary arts space.

  15. Q4 2018: Downtown’s residential population is close to reaching the 10,000-mark. At the end of 2018, Downtown had an estimated 9,395 residents, up from 3,021 in 2010 (a 211% increase). Downtown also had strong rent growth, averaging the highest monthly rent in the region, at $2,032, reflecting robust interest in Downtown living. 2018 heralded a turning point in Downtown’s multifamily market. Downtown went from having the lowest occupancy rate in the region in 2017 to being named the hottest submarket by Apartmentdata.com, Marcus & Millichap, and Berkadia, recording a massive yearover-year jump in occupancy from 62.3 percent in Q 3 2017 to 83.9 percent in Q 3 2018 (Berkadia 2018). 16. Bobruss makes many excellent points. The construction of apartments and condos within the Loop has been breathtaking. Midtown used to be a wasteland and look at it now. Downtown was impressive, but isolated skyscrapers with almost no night life except the theater district .I believe the construction rate surpasses that of the 1970's to early 1980's. It's going to be interesting to see what the inner loop population is in the next census. I don't believe ( or wish ) to attain the population densities of Hong Kong, Sao Paulo, or Tokyo, Nevertheless the urbannization taking place is splendid. All this even after H. Harvey. What a great city this is.

  17. I’ve been seeing this on my neighborhood walks but could never find anything on FAA site in regards to height. A pleasant surprise on the size edit: 8 out of 14 floors for parking seems odd for an office

  18. ^^^ although, in my view, the exterior seems quite forbidding... as in a scary asylum / clinic. however, the interior design is drop dead gorgeous! additionally, that bathroom slide with the opulent square tub.. that mirrors a small pool, is what dreams are made of. i would kill for that tub.....

  19. There are lots of venues to have a fine Craft Beer here in the Houston Metro Area. Some Old buildings have been repurposed into fine drinking establishments or eateries and have found new life. Lots of new exciting people moving here everyday. What are some of your favorite wateringholes that you have found with weird or exciting architecture to behold and be in awe of as you imbibe your local or national favorites ? Feel free to list names and addresses of these places and WHY they are so awesome to you. Don't forget to tell us what your poison is as well....be it a craft cocktail they make or a specialty drink only they make or your favorite wine, but most importantly.....DON'T FORGET THE CRAFT BEER !!! P.S If you say PBR, or Bud....you will lose a testicle or breasticle, depending on gender ! I would start us off, but I don't wish to seem biased or that I am advertising for any one establishment. Just Sayin' !
