New word is they won't start this until the big midtown project is 100% complete...4 points

Not sure why they have it listed as mixed-use. 4600 Main will be a housing facility for veterans. They plan to add a floor to the existing building. http://blog.chron.com/primeproperty/2015/07/historic-midtown-building-to-be-redeveloped-for-veterans/2 points

^^^ i am most certain that we can all notice, that there are actually 3 developments in one illustration featured here. simply outstanding job hindesky....2 points

How funny. The building on the far left had views blocked by the building in the middle, and now the Carter is blocking their views.2 points

Too bad they can't get rid of the power lines, nice looking building.2 points

This building looks amazing and it's going to get better as it ages. Thanks for the overhead shot, Larry!1 point

I saw a notice of variance request posted at 4600 Main Street. It is a proposed mixed use project seeking a variance to avoid the requirement of a loading berth. Is anyone familiar with this?1 point

I actually saw new supports and a new approach for the White Oak Bayou bridge. I've seen the work they've done to 45 on the west side of Downtown that replaced the bridge decking, but this looks like an outright bridge replacement or perhaps a widening.1 point

Keep in mind Camden is publicly traded. So even if he wants to move forward his stock holders and its price matter more.1 point

Just to put it into perspective. Downtown is currently at 3,024 housing units including the recently completed Skyhouse. Per the Development Map: Year-end 2015: 3,747 units Year-end 2016: 5,020 units Year-end 2017: 7,041 units (most of the units come online in first half of 2017) Over the next 20 months, 4,017 new units come online, an increase of 133% from current. This wave of construction will bring 4,353 new units total (including the already completed Skyhouse), a 162% increase.1 point

#1 I love it. It's a mid-century modern gem. We have so few of those left, especially downtown. #2 I don't think that's gold paint. That's probably just what that material will look like after a good power washing. #3 It's laughable that anyone would post an interior photo of another LM Hotel and say this one is inferior because they don't like the exterior. I've always loved the Melrose Building and I am glad they are bringing it back without altering the living hell out of it.1 point

This is and has been my favorite project going up in this city in the current cycle. Growing up near Chicago my idea of a ballpark and associated neighborhood will always be Wrigley and Wrigleyville in Chicago. It has such a great vibe, is pedestrian friendly, has a fantastic collection of old brick buildings that are used for pubs, restaurants, apartments, etc..., and almost no surface parking (everyone just rides the train to the games). The area around Minute Maid can never be the same but I feel like this project along with the many other projects going up around the park can lead to a modern version of a vibrant urban ball park neighborhood. I'm so glad this is turning out to look as great as I hoped it would.1 point

The name fooled you... LM is not a luxury hotel in the truest sense of the term. It's a nice brand but that's about it. Architecturally the one in San Francisco is similarly architecturally unremarkable.1 point

I wish they would change their mind on all those advertisements in the outfield. Whatever revenue they bring in are not worth the damage cause to the reputation of the park, which is unfairly reviled due the superficial cheese factor.1 point

And with the birth of the monorail, HAIF will come out with pitchforks demanding Monorail Level Retail and wondering who could have possibly been in favor of GFR.1 point

BREAKING NEWS! 8/26/15 Dallas skyline is about to turn into a freakshow. https://oeaaa.faa.gov/oeaaa/external/searchAction.jsp?action=displayOECase&oeCaseID=261961202&row=0 Quote:Structure Name: HI FORUM TOWER Quote: Structure Height: 1080 That's taller than the Salesforce Tower. Yeah not holding my breath for many of these but you never know. You gotta admit the first group U/C is already impressive. If half of the 2nd group gets done...wow. Especially the 45-60 next to Trammell crow. I saw someone say it takes a 400footer to make an impact on the skyline...and that would be well over. Not to mention the other 45 story next the the Craig Hall arts center. As I said something is physically happening there right now. The Harwood master plan is INSANE. I dont think that I posted the concept pics here yet. That one Im not sure of....along with the 80x2/60x2 Cadiz towers. Hey at least we dream BOLD haha.1 point

They're using the garage as a buffer to set the apartments back from the freeway. My first thought on seeing this was that being so close to 59 would be terribly noisy. Freeways produce a huge amount of ambient noise.1 point

I finally dragged the archives out of the storage room and surely enough, found some old Longfellow Elementary photos of my mother's. Front of school, my mother is on the far right in dark dress - Orthopedics Class 1951 As isuredid mentioned, the principal, Miss Lavinia Namendorf Cafeteria in "basement" actually ground level and Custodian, Juanita, who took such great care of me.1 point
