  3. I wish they could have sped it up by a few months when the Final Four will be in town, but it should be very nice when it opens.

  7. According to a Cite magazine article, the architects (Gensler) convinced the developer of Hess Tower (Trammel Crow) "that a 75-foot-wide strip . . . should be left empty to allow for the possibility of a residential development." The GRBCC 2025 Master Plan also has the site designated for residential development.

  8. Took this today. Looks like they are gutting the interior of the old building via this hole that faces Captiol. Eau de old building innards is in the air, despite their innovative dust mitigation sprinkler system that runs atop the hole in the picture.

  9. They've made a little progress on the façade in the last couple weeks, with the most visible progress being today. They've now added relief to the pilasters on the ends and have mostly reinforced the attachment of the white backing boards. Hopefully this means they'll be putting the gray texturing over most of it soon. Also they've put a bunch of boards for platforms on the scaffolding around the mechanical penthouse.

  10. The airlines will allow mobile phone service when they can find a way to charge high fees for it. I doubt they are much interested in what other passengers think one way or another.

  11. GREAT article.. Too true. I love the new plans, but I wish it were for a new tower, not to replace this one.

  12. We live in this area, and during the summer we walk the dog at night (around 9:00pm) after it has cooled down. We haven't had any problems. I have not walked to the greyhound area, but when I drive through there, I also see residents walking their dogs at night too. I think someone from the suburbs would not be comfortable doing that, but when you live in the city, you learn to live with everything that's in it.
