The Astrodomain Master Plan

I was browsing around in a 1970s Texas almanac, and I found this for the "Astrodomain". I thought that it referred to Astroworld, Astrodome, and surrounding hotels, and I was right.

I don't know what the weird characters are on the bottom, though.

Marvel McFey on the bottom right.

Not sure who the frog-looking character is on the bottom left but it is one of Marvel McFey's "enchanted animals"

I had never heard of "Astrodomain" either but I guess it makes sense. I remember their was some wierd bridge that seemed to connect astroworld and the astrodoom.

that seemed to connect??? astrodoom is VERY apropos at da moment.

+1 for you.

Probably the best post I have seen from you. Thank you.

Come on, my posts weren't THAT bad, were they? :(

The truth is, because I'm relatively young (< 20) and not a native of Houston, Houston memorabilia for me is far and few between. I did post an old Splashtown brochure (early 1980s) about a year ago.

Yes, I remember this from when I was a kid. Back then that hotel in the pic was touted as having the most expensive suite (The Presidential Suite) on the planet. Starting at around 13,000 a night or something like that.

Not quite that much in that era. See my post on an older thread.
