BCO & HTXO present A Walk in the Woods aka Hiking Houston
May 18, 2019
Meet at 9:30 AM, start 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM
Meet at Memorial Park Rugby Field Parking Lot
N Picnic Lane
Houston, TX 77007
Memorial Park, known as the Central Park of H-town, is an amazing 1,466-acre park (one of the largest in the county) right inside the loop! Trails are a mix of hard packed dirt, sand, trees and tree roots. It is wooded and wild in the middle of the city!
Join us for an hour and a half, quick-paced hike through some of the lesser-known (and more adventuresome) trails our park has to offer. Wear tennis shoes or hiking boots, as it’s easy to bang a toe on a tree root. You’ll be shocked at some of the "elevation" in the park that you wouldn’t expect from just driving by. Remember to bring water as there are no water fountains along the trails.
Please, check the meeting location map on the Bayou City Outdoors site calendar before you head over to the park. It’s a big park, and we try and leave on time!
Get your copy of Houston A to Z while it lasts-today! You'll find 8 pages of the coolest, the most curious, the gems, and the underground of our town. It's everything you need to know to be a Houston aficionado, and it's completely FREE - http://bit.ly/2gCCaIy.
