Cassandra Tyson, aka "Ms. Sassy Jazz," was born in Alaska and has traveled the globe. In 2005, she performed on the world famous Showtime at the Apollo television show. She is a former member of the HCC jazz group, Graffiti, Mark Holter’s Jazz Ensemble, and the all-girl group, the Jive Sisters. Cassandra was also a cast member for the hit gospel play "Lord Send Me the Right Man" and was chosen as one of five finalists from a field of over 700 contestants on KPRC-TV’s Gimme the Mic competition.
