  1. When I worked there they divided the inpatient side into four towers: Main Building, Dunn Tower, Fondren/Brown/Alkek (I guess they have been combined into one building on the inside), and Jones Tower. Now they have the Walter tower and soon the Centennial tower as well. It was already hard enough trying to cover patients in all four buildings at the time, I can't imagine having to go to all six every day. The other side of Fannin is outpatient with Scurlock Tower, Smith Tower, and the Outpatient Center (plus the West Pavilion which was more of a LTAC/rehab center I think)
  2. It's pretty clear that in United's hub structure IAH won't be getting many trans-Atlantic or trans-Pacific routes any time soon (maybe CDG or ZRH in the next five years, but not much imo). However, I think there is the opportunity to increase Central/South American flying in the relatively near future. Which of these destinations (or others) could we realistically see in the next few years? I know that the vast majority of these won't happen, but they are largely destinations that were previously served by CO/UA, or served from other US cities. Mexico: Chihuahua (CUU) Durango (DGO) Huatulco (HUX) Loreto (LTO) Toluca (TLC) Torreon (TRC) Tuxtla Gutierrez (TGZ) Zacatecas (ZCL) Central America: David Sur, Panama (DAV) Flores, Guatemala (FRS) La Ceiba, Honduras (LCE) South America: Cali, Colombia (CLO) Cartagena, Colombia (CTG) Cusco, Peru (CUZ) Guayaquil, Ecuador (GYE) Montevideo, Uruguay (MVD) Santa Cruz, Bolivia (VVI) Caribbean: Barbados (BGI) Curacao (CUR) Freeport, Bahamas (FPO) Grenada (GND) Kingston, Jamaica (KIN) St. Lucia (UVF) St. Maarten (SXM)
  3. The momentum continues! United is starting daily 737 flights to Medellin, Colombia on October 27, 2024. https://www.aeroroutes.com/eng/240307-ua2h24intl
  4. Still not the major addition we are hoping for, but UA is starting seasonal Saturday-only E-175 service to Traverse City, Michigan (TVC) from June 29 to August 17. This makes four new destinations from UA starting this year, joining SAF, TQO, and GEO (though only Tulum is year-round daily). Fingers crossed that once the International Terminal construction is complete in the next year we will see more destinations. https://www.traverseticker.com/news/cherry-capital-airport-adds-direct-service-to-houston/
  5. I wonder with this much increased cruise capacity if there’s any chance at a weekend flight or two to Scholes Airport? Doubtful, but a Saturday/Sunday-only service to DFW on AA or ATL on Delta would be cool.
  6. I have noticed pages load significantly faster since I went ad-free with HAIF+ (I really just wanted to support the site, but this has been a massive benefit), so it’s possible the ads may be a part of the slow load times.
  7. That was fast... there's construction fencing around the now-empty bank building, guessing demolition is imminent.
  8. Add another destination for DFW… looks like AA is starting Dallas-Brisbane this year 🫤
  9. The First Horizon Bank has closed and moved down the street/parking lot to the old Community Bank location at the corner of Gessner and I-10. Hoping we are inching towards progress…
  10. Yikes, that is an absolutely brutal schedule to start. 17 of the first 20 against very good teams (plus 13 at home so you can pencil those in as L's already).
  11. Wow that's awesome news! This will definitely be the best-looking building in the CityCentre/T&C area... if it holds up to the renderings. Fingers crossed they don't take away the wavy aspect and just turn it into a box.
  12. Incredibly condescending points aside, Post's biggest strength is that it actually has some really good food spots that you can't find anywhere else. Andes Cafe, Chòpnblok, and Golfstrømmen are all phenomenal, destination-worthy restaurants. Not to mention multiple other strong concepts with enough variety to cater to nearly any taste. I find Post is an awesome spot to meet up with folks from across the Houston area in a central location where everyone can get something they enjoy.
  13. Have been there twice now on off-peak hours, once on a Sunday afternoon before the opera matinee, and this past Thursday night before the Akon concert. Both times there were slightly more people than I expected, but still not crowded by any means. I imagine it gets much busier at lunch time on weekdays. This week there were a couple of vacant stalls, and the place I wanted to try (1929 Po Bo Kitchen) had already closed by 6:30 PM, even though Lyric Market is technically open until 10 PM on Thursdays. That being said, the waffle place was magnificent.
  14. You're right on the start date, I got it confused with the LAX-TQO start date which is May 23.
  15. Wow! Didn't see these mentioned, but United is also adding 2x daily service to the new Tulum airport beginning March 23, and 1x weekly service to Santa Fe, NM beginning March 9. It's still a few cry from the way they'll add 7 long haul routes out of SFO at a time (for example), but this is an absolute bounty of new routes for IAH considering the way United has shafted us over the past several years.
