'Stonian
Definitely Apache. I don't mind the design. It fits in well with BLVD place. Apache was my immediate guess as well..., looks like BLVD Place phase one behind the base. The design shown may just be a place holder but it is very similar to their project in Chicago - http://www.pickardchilton.com/mobile/300_north_lasalle.html
King Owl
I used to work in 300 n lasalle in Chicago! Great building inside.

lockmat
Which one is memorial point?
Fortune
That may actually be the design of the building, IMO opinion it does resemble the building in the last renderings released of BLVD Place. Even in this rendering the other two buildings in the back ground have the same motif.
Fortune
Which one is memorial point? Its the 16 story 400,000 sqft building proposed for the site of the First Baptist Church parking lot of off I-10 close to the 6-10 intersection.
cloud713
thats OVER 34 stories.. heh.. how tall is the tallest building around BLVD Place?
Fortune
thats OVER 34 stories.. heh.. how tall is the tallest building around BLVD Place? On the BLVD Place project plans I believe it says 33 stories.
cloud713
On the BLVD Place project plans I believe it says 33 stories. lol i just reread the statement and realized what they meant. not more than 34 floors, but that much floor space spread out over 34 floors. i wonder why the other plans say 33. treblelino
Why do architects keeping dropping these boring designs on these new buildings? Dang!!!
treblelino
The design will be outdated by the time they build it 10 or 15 years from now.
hoothrewpoo
It's Apache. Pickard Chilton is the Design Architect, KHA is the Architect of Record.

infinite_jim
I kinda glad it doesn't take away from the Williams tower in terms of height. I bet if the San Felipe Plaza was on this site people would complain about it "lopsiding" and ruining uptown's skyline! btw I think that tower has great orientation tapering.
Houston?
Why? I think the Williams tower needs towers its size to compliment it.
kennyc05
Why? I think the Williams tower needs towers its size to compliment it. Me too I think uptown needs some balance just my opinion.
por favor gracias
I've always loved how the Williams Tower has "stood alone" in its immediate area in Uptown. It really commands attention and respect. That said, Uptown is large enough in size that something like the once proposed 53 or 55 story Ritz-Carlton would have added some much needed balance without luring very much of that attention away from the Williams Tower IMO. brijonmang
What is the white crane building? Hanover's 29 story condo tower. @Golyadkin: is that the core starting to separate itself from the parking garage on the Hanover tower? Hard to tell on my computer but it looks like the core with a pump arm sticking up. Edited August 1, 2013 by brijonmang
Golyadkin
@Golyadkin: is that the core starting to separate itself from the parking garage on the Hanover tower? Hard to tell on my computer but it looks like the core with a pump arm sticking up. It is above the rest of the building, but it's always been about a story above the rest of the garage as it's been going up.

Golyadkin
Glass! You shooting with a 200mm? Not for that shot. I have a 55-200 lens, but I got that one with my 18-55. This was shot with my 200mm: Also, I'm almost certain those white covered things are escalators. TowerSpotter
^^^^ yea, the right one seems like it could be an escalator and the left one just regular stairs
