I came across some interesting maps that show county-by-county where the major religions are in the United States. It goes a long way toward explaining why I never met a Baptist before I moved to Texas. But if you're like me, you'll just appreciate it because you like pretty maps.

I think I have seen these before, but aren't there more? I remember there being at least 10 or 15 (I think). Well I replaced the last word with mormon, methodist, and jewish, and all of those resulted in another map. So I guess my suspicions were true. Either way, they are still very interesting.

Yeah, there were a bunch of maps, but I lost the parent link. If I recall, the Jewish map showed the highest concentrations in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Long Island. I'll try to find the main link again and post it here.

Look how diverse Harris County is..
We're only n the 10-25% range for Catholics.. yet.. thats still the predominant denomination in the county.
