Ladies & Gentlemen.... guess who's BACK BABY: the legendary Ch. 13-ista Dave Ward....

He's returning to the ABC O&O Station & launching a new segment with Ch. 13 called "Dave Ward's Houston", the weekly feature, which launches in September, will be taking a look back each week at a topic in Bayou City history that even natives like myself might not be familiar with. "I have thought about doing this for quite some time & mainly because there are whole generations of young people in Houston who aren't aware of some of the history of this great city & how we got here & how we grew & what the future looks like," Ward told mikemcguff.com.

Please comment & give your thoughts on Ward's new segment! Very much appreciate it.

Following in Ray Miller's footsteps - perhaps this will be a new generation's "The Eyes of Texas", although given Dave's age he isn't going to match the 30-year run of that program.

Speaking of "The Eyes of Texas", anyone know if those programs are accessible anywhere, or are they locked away in KPRC's archives?

Ray Miller's "The Eyes of Texas" episodes are classics. I like Bob Phillips' "Texas Country Reporter" but I think it would be wonderful to see "The Eyes of Texas" again.

Rice's Woodson Research Center has Episodes from 1978-1993, then the revival from 2007-2009.

When it comes to the earlier ones...

All of the original Eyes of Texas shows from 1969-1978 were shot on film and to date, have not been transferred to tape or DVD. Those early shows on film are at KPRC-TV, not available at Rice University. However many of these stories reappear in later episodes beginning in 1978 and are available at Rice University.

I'd be curious if KPRC also has the 93-late 90s ones as well or if they're in the posession of people from Stonefilms - the late Ron Stone's production company.

Good Morning ChannelTwoNews: what happened to your YouTube Channel because I went on YouTube to look at some of the Ch. 13 videos & noticed your channel is gone. What happened ?
