N Judah
Is this true? If it is, I'll take Westpark and the Beltway to get to work tomorrow. Anyone know the real story on this? I know the radio sometimes gets things wrong.
ssullivan
Yes, I think it may actually be until Wednesday. It was on CNN earlier today when Eckels and White were having a press conference concerning the people coming back to Houston.
N Judah
Ok, so I found this article that says Harris County Toll Roads are free until 5 am Wednesday:http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/m...politan/3370934But it says that "The 83 miles of the Hardy Toll Road and Sam Houston Tollway have been free since mandatory evacuations began late last week" which explicitly leaves out the Westpark Tollway. This is bad news for me, since I took Westpark to the Galleria and back yesterday (and I don't have an EZ Tag).
ssullivan
The Westpark was not charging tolls either. I took it yesterday with a rental car without my EZ Tag and the lights that come on if you run through a toll station without a valid EZ Tag did not light up. I saw plenty of other cars on the highway without a tag too. And, according to the HCTRA website on Sunday afternoon, all of their tollways were supposed to be free until Wednesday morning.
