The Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts office has declared this year’s Emergency Preparation Supplies Sales Tax Holiday will run from 12:01 a.m. on April 22 to midnight on April 24. Although there is no limit on the number of items Texas residents can buy during this time frame, there are some restrictions on qualifying items. Given that we're about to celebrate (?) the third anniversary of the Memorial Day floods in Houston, it seems appropriate to give this thread another nudge.
I especially like that it's called "flood season", not hurricane season. As long time Houstonians know, the wind damages from tropical storms and hurricanes rarely approach the devastation caused by flooding.
Here's hoping for a mild summer, and that all of us have prepared and can avoid those supermarket mob scenes if the inevitable does happen.
