brijonmang
you flew a drone in downtown? damn.. kind of ballsy. lol Well, for now it's not illegal so I'll try to get some shots in while it won't get me in trouble.
cloud713
I just got a Phantom the other day. I was dreaming about some downtown development footage but figured it would be asking for trouble. I guess I may be ok.
brijonmang
Just make sure to get REALLY comfortable with controlling it. The last thing you want to do is get turned around and accidentally fly it into the side of a building and watch helplessly as your shiny new quad copter falls from hundreds of feet to the ground. Not to mention what could happen to anyone on the ground.

Montrose1100
Sorry I'm late getting this up but here is the drone footage I took while I was downtown: Pretty windy huh? I tried flying a small baby one and broke it instantly. Do you start filming, let the quad go up, and just edit it later? If not, do you use the remote or the app on your phone to control when to start/stop and view what the camera is seeing?

Yeah it was a little windy, but it's really only bad when descending. That's when it has the hardest time remaining level. I only have a GoPro mounted to it so I start filming right before taking off and then edit the video later. I don't have the ability to get a live feed or anything like that. When I upgrade to a higher class quad I will definitely be doing that though. It would make flying it and getting good shots sooooo much easier. brijonmang
Hobby Center was looking purdy the other night...I'd have some better shots but the fence around for construction kind of obscured things.
