Plan to widen Dunlevy street postponed

Recommended Posts

From Cohens enewsletter

Council Member Cohen met with Director Patrick Walsh of the Planning and Development Department to express grave concerns regarding the Houston Planning Commission proposal to widen portions of Dunlavy St from 60ft to 70ft. The Commission voted to approve the proposal as part of its annual review of the Major Thoroughfare and Freeway Plan (MTFP), which identifies the widths, speed limits, and building setbacks of Houston's streets. Due to the lack of public input on this proposal and the negative impact it would have on adjacent homeowners, Council Member Cohen firmly opposes the widening of Dunlavy St in residential areas. The amendment has since been removed from consideration on this year's MTFP so that it can be further vetted during next year's amendment process.
