Avossos
I don't think most people on this forum realize that oil isn't the only sector that can take advantage of 6HC. The rest of the economy is doing tremendously well right now... I can see a financial or real estate company being a tenant for 6HC but I don't have any news of that happening. I hope youre right and 6 HC goes up. I know Houston is a power house, and developers have taken notice. I also refer back to what the Midway COO or VP said: "Houston has become a primary market where investment is not dependant on economic cycles" or something like that... Marlow should be cool. toxtethogrady
Don't forget lawyers and accountants. They also take their share of space. That said, it would be cool if Houston could lure somebody like Caterpillar to pull up stakes and come to town.
Alec
A crew was bringing loads of drywall into the ticket office today and several new walls are studded up inside. I guess they're going to prelease from there for awhile before tearing it down, or maybe I'm mistaken about the location of the tower on this lot

Tumbleweed_Tx
it looks to me like they are turning the old Front Row building into a sales office for the Marlowe- I wonder if it's going to be torn down to be part of the building, or if it's not part of the Marlowe's plot... monarch
although it reminds me of a house of cards... it looks fun and a bit happy! i think it shall compliment that particular block / area nicely. i am also digging the very ultra modern design of the outside awning with the MARLOWE moniker. reeks of cool....
tigereye
Where's the Dirt bar and the Reserve?I noticed that too. Rendering shows a parking lot and tree in its place, but leaves space for where they would normally be. So Im left to think Marlowe will not touch them based on that... tigereye
http://www.houstoneb5.com/project_Marlowe.cfm 2 things... A. I don't know how you do it ...but your the man. Just had to give respect. B. That link - Randall Davis is going the EB5 route like Dan Nip and his forever-delayed East End Convention Center Hotel-turned-EaDo Place-turned-City View Terrace project?

Triton
Im forwarding this to the Dirt Bar owner. Haha.... that's just my theory. Plus it's only one floor so it may not be urban enough for Marlowe.
Luminare
This is common practice in renderings. While it would have been better to at least model the building and include it in the rendering most often times people want to see the building in isolation. Not to mention with the view in this rendering you wouldn't be able to see much of the other building anyway. If I were doing the model I would have included the smaller building just to help add more context. Remember that just because a building doesn't show up in a rendering doesn't mean that it's not going to exist. Most times it's merely omitted to better assist the rendering. On an additional note, it's refreshing to see a development that doesn't gobble up the entire block! I would love to see more selective developments in a manor such as this. It would certainly provide greater diversity. Edited February 5, 2015 by Luminare

H-Town Man
I'm glad to see that it's taller than it is wide. I think Rice and UH both have dorms that are taller than this building.

My favorite was when they put the demolished Texas Tower in the background of an interior shot of 609. Doing these models must be fun.

monarch
Where are all the gargoyles and other statuary? somehow, i really do not believe that MARLOWE is in to "gargoyles"....
H-Town Man
Marlowe is definitely not into gargoyles or other such kitsch. He does however favor the blank lower floors that we've come to know in The Metropolitan.
Montrose1100
I think it will be extremely similar to the Cosmopolitian's facade. Of course his garages are always frown worthy. It's a nice little addition to the area and as mentioned a millions times it's nice that it won't take up he whole block.

From his lips to the guy in charge of the Hanover Companies. And all those lenders who just red-lined Houston.
