Frontier Airlines

I actually flew Frontier for the first time last week. Their setup in Denver was odd. They seemed to schedule all of their departures at the same time such that the end of Terminal A that they take up was a complete mob scene.

Out in Bozeman, their counter staff was late showing up and we were delayed leaving because they couldn't process all of the passengers in line in time.

They were cheap though, I'll give them that.

No they need cash.  United has 9 non stops every day and a morning flight with a 788-8.  Frontier will not make any profit and United will not sale tickets thet low.  Gordon Bethune said " If the pizza to cheap nobody wants to buy it".

787-8

Why can't you understand that not everyone flies first class on United for every flight? Many people would much rather pay $180 for a Frontier flight than $450 for United regardless of what plane it's on or what time the flight is. Most people couldn't care less about the 787 as long as they can get to their destination as cheaply as possible. It's great that you love United so much, but it's good to have options.

Your right but I need to keep my 1K Status I don't fly economy anymore.  My point is Frontier cannot make any profits with tickets that low.  That is why their owner Republic Air tried to sell them with no buyers.  Think about the crew, landing fees, insurance, gate agents.  That is more than $180 per person you get what you pay for.

I wonder when their nonstops to SFO and PHX begin.

I was poking around, but everything they were showing in the immediate future was still connecting through Denver - much better now than it was back when Stapleton was still going, but it still tacks on a bunch of time - and that's just during the summer when the weather is reasonably reliable.

I think the flights begin in late October or early November but can't remember.

Frontier tried a flight out of IAH to Wilmington, Delaware but that quickly failed.

I often wonder how native can fly so much because he apparently also moves quite a bit since I have seen him claim he lives in Avalon Place, Upper Kirby, right behind Whole Foods, over by the new Hines San Felipe building, and Glendower Court.

I was able to find a R/T direct to SFO over the XMas holidays for $150, plus $5 for a reserved seat and $15 to check a bag. So at $170 compared to the $450 on United, its not really a question for me (for two people so really $340 vs $900). Usually I can find a flight on United or SW closer to $350, but doubtful for the days I'm looking for so I pulled the trigger on Frontier's special.

I'm not expecting much, but if I get there close to on time, at that price - i'm not going to ask for much.

I was platinum on Continental for years and very happy, never made 1K with United - but even at platinum/gold I had issues with their customer service and I'm just indifferent now.
