Well, the title speaks for itself.

Here's my list:

1. Uptown (looking to the east from the SW Freeway, uptown looks very impressive. Especially with all of the cranes)

2. DT - from 45 SE of DT

3. TMC from 610

4. Energy Corridor

5. The Woodlands

6. Greenway Plaza/Upper Kirby.

1. DT on I-10 eastbound just before Yale. All of the larger buildings that line the Louisiana St face this direction and are spread out.

2. DT on the connector ramp from 288 NB to 59 SB. I like the density from this side.

3. 610 west loop with the buildings close to the freeway on both sides.

Downtown easily wins this for me, with TMC in second. Uptown just doesn't have the height or density to compete with Downtown, in my opinion. Here are some of my favorite pictures of Downtown.

I voted the TMC.  Simply for its uniqueness - outside of Boston and Bethesda I'm having trouble thinking of a collection of medical/biomedical buildings and towers that nears the size and density of the TMC (in one place).

In terms of most impressive buildings:

1) Downtown

2) Uptown

3) TMC

I think the best view of Downtown is either from 59/69 heading north from Upper Kirby or from I-45 south looking over the Convention Center.  The reasons are that the towers along Smith and Travis dwarf the older parts of town and hence hide a lot of the other buildings, whereas the views from the south still show off those big 50 floor towers with the smaller buildings and historic district in full view.

Crossing over Yale on I-10 (heading east), at 7:20 in the morning is amazing. The sun beams slightly off of the Wells Fargo Tower, it looks so shiny and smooth. The color of the glass is most impressive with that lighting.

Such a great topic. First off, thank you all for the different persective pix of DT. I must say, only because I grew up viewing DT this way, I prefer either Southbound I45 approaching DT or eastbound I10 approaching DT. Because I love the BoA's impact on the skyline, so unique, I had to vote for DT as my fave skyline. My other favorite HTown tower is the Williams Tower, so I had to choose UT as a second choice. BUT, without the WT, I would easily vote for MT as my 2nd face. The density, design and light rail make it in my mind, a contender for best urban use of space. If MT ever got another iconic tower to rival the Williams Tower, I would switch my allegiance. I am just a sucker for tall towers. The aforementioned favorite DT views don't showcase the density of It like some of those you all posted, so I have to rethink my position on that. ;) the Woodlands skyline is definitely eye catching and getting increasingly denser. Being my commute, I also am enjoying the EC, especially from Memorial City west to Hwy 6, BUT, I also think it is going to become limited to straddeling the fwy without much clustering, which I prefer over staggered structures. ( think Phoenix or Atlanta). Finally, I must say, I find it awesome that we are able to pick which of the multiple skylines our fair city has as it's best. Not too many cities can boast that. :)

I choose uptown, but only because there is the one angle of downtown that I don't like that they always show when they show Houston to the world. You know which one I am talking about. The one with the big open field, the freeway in the front and the big buildings with the gaps in-between them.

I was near downtown transit center about 8:30 pm the other day and the sun was going down, and the buildings had this pretty glow. I wish I had my phone to snap a pic. Chevron and, the buildings around looked so beautiful and exxon looked like a classic gem. I will be sad if it I'd severely altered.

I would like to change my #1.

Google directed me west on the beltway from 45 south, and then up 59 to Hilcroft, with turns into voss leading to San Felipe.

I have never for some reason driven this way my whole life. There were rad 80's buildings on both sides of the black top freeway, and heading north on 59 the Williams Tower looked so majestic I felt like I had seen it for the first time. Uptown was gleaming. I cannot describe it other than absolutely incredible.

So, #1 hands down is Uptown as viewed from 59 heading north from the beltway. Not on the on-ramp but on the actual freeway.

It also looks good from the westpark tollroad eastbound when returning from Chinatown. A similar perspective to 59, but elevated in a few more places, which allows for better ogling. And that little tunnel is kinda cool.

If you take the 59 downtown exit from westparkl toll eastbound, there is a big ramp with really nice view:

It is a good view, I do however often see it like that when I take 59 N from Fountain View. I feel the view was more stunning a little further south when 59 runs at a NW/SW angle.
