Avossos
It's kinda weird going down Washington seeing this and the other project a few hundred yards down at the roundabout. Why?
BigFootsSocks
Because it used to be pretty flat in that area now there's a lot rising. Weird in a good way.

WestUdweller
Not only is it the biggest thing on Washington in the Rice Military area (or all of Washington period?) but it truly is a massive apartment building. It is tough for me to tell there is still supposed to be mixed use though?
BigFootsSocks
It looks like that would be the perfect retail setup, but I think it's offices and space for the apartments

Visitor
Was at CVS across the street and snappwd a couple photos. Looks like they are getting close.
WestUdweller
Can't decide whether I like it or not... I can see it from my rooftop a few blocks away. Actually like the color scheme chosen, I just hate siding in general though. The El tiempo a block away is about to get way more crowded

InTheLoopFromNYC
WestUDweller, I'm with you, can't decide, but overall probably favorable since it doesn't have the cookie cutter midrise (shades of taupe, stucco) going up all over Houston and could have been a lot worse (low bar). Not a big fan of siding either, but like the dark treatments here. I wish they had gone for first floor retail like Elan Memorial Park, going up just west on Washington. Traffic on Washington is about to get really bad!!!

InTheLoopFromNYC
Last I heard, they're wasn't going to be any ground level retail. Is that still the case? Speaking of which, anyone heard what retail is going in under Elan @ Memorial Park (sorry for commingling topics).
