DNAguy
Technically it's Porter, not Kingwood. May help to bring this along to the existing thread : http://www.houstonarchitecture.com/haif/topic/28442-porternew-caney-valley-ranch-master-plan-community-to-be-by-highway-59-and-the-new-grand-parkway http://www.bizjournals.com/houston/blog/breaking-ground/2014/10/grand-parkway-exxon-inspire-new-submarket.html New Caney, Porter, Atascocita, and Humble are now under the control of the Kingwoodianites. Now as someone with family in the northeast of Houston, I for one would like to welcome our suburban overlords and remind them as an active poster on HAIF that I can round up others to frequent the endless new front parking stripmalls, buy homes on cold-a-sacs, and to sit in the mind-numbing sprawl-induced traffic that will result.

toxtethogrady
At the moment, 59 is not as jam-packed with development as 45, 290 and 10 are. So there's room to grow. But at this pace of development, they may soon have to stretch the Woodlands district all the way to the statue of Sam Houston.

Nate99
Kingwood Medical Center has expanded significantly in the past 5 years. 2 new full service hospitals seems too much, but so does an acute care/standalone walk-in clinic on every major corner. ChannelTwoNews
Conference Center & Garage Plan from 2022 https://www.bizjournals.com/houston/news/2022/04/07/montgomery-county-conference-center-planned.html "East Montgomery County will get a new 200,000-square-foot conference and events center, the East Montgomery County Improvement District has announced. The $108 million center will be built in the Signorelli Co.-developed Valley Ranch Town Center’s entertainment district and include a 55,000-square-foot ballroom/exhibit hall and nearly 20,000 square feet of meeting space. The development is currently in the design phase, and the hope is to break ground by the end of this year and open in mid-2024. Orlando, Florida-based Helman Hurley Charvat Peacock/Architects Inc. is designing the structure." -Has there been any action on this project? Also saw this from yesterday... https://www.bizjournals.com/houston/news/2023/10/05/hope-media-group-headquarters-move-valley-ranch.html "The Signorelli Co., the developer behind the 1,400-acre master-planned community, said Hope Media's new headquarters will be in Valley Ranch Town Center. The 240-acre mixed-use district sits at the intersection of the Grand Parkway and Interstate 69 in the New Caney area. Hope Media's three-story, 50,000-square-foot global headquarters building will include space for the company's broadcast, podcast and video production studios. The building also will feature a café, a 200-seat auditorium, a lobby with historical memorabilia, and an area for volunteers and the company's prayer and care line. There will be an outdoor patio on the top floor. Construction is expected to begin before the end of the year, Signorelli said. San Francisco-headquartered Gensler is the architecture firm designing the facility, and Houston-based Tellepsen is the general contractor."
Amlaham
I really wish they made their "town center" more like an actual town center (think Sugar Land, City center, Woodlands, or Pearland's town center). As of now, its literally just a HUGE shopping center/ mesh mash of multiple different strip centers. I wish our further suburbs would embrace country/ old town living, these new suburbs are doing a horrible job in my opinion, just creating massive shopping centers.

The 135,000-square-foot store at U.S. 59 and the Grand Parkway in Valley Ranch Town Center, will hold its grand opening Sunday. It will be the chain's 40th store in the Houston market, where Target employs almost 6,500, including 150 at the new store."
strickn
New Caney, Pinehurst, Fulshear, Iowa Colony (since nearby Manvel Town Center has its HEB and CVS now), Dickinson and Dayton are the tentpegs of some giant tent nobody really wanted to build if there were an easier way to get indoor space and an easier way to make money

strickn
Clockwise from left, that's Fulshear, Pinehurst, Splendora/New Caney, Mont Belvieu, Dickinson and Iowa Colony (since nearby Manvel Town Center has its HEB and CVS now) that are the tentpegs of some giant tent nobody really wanted to build if there were an easier way to get indoor space and an easier way to make money. Those folks need some lower hanging fruit so they can stop chewing up Texas' physiocultural possibilities
