j_cuevas713
I'm amazed to see this midrise in a sea of parking spaces. I would've hoped for maybe 3 more of these midrises during the incentives program

Chi-Char-Hou-Dal
Have any of those broke ground? The 1810 Main would be good progress in that area. Â Sadly don't see anything getting off the ground in the current environment - happy for what we got.
cspwal
1711 and 1825have both broken ground and are under way 1825 San Jacinto working on the 6th floor: 1711 Caroline has two wood stories on the concrete first story up on the north side, but only the concrete on the southside  Last I saw at 1810 Main, nothing much was going on.  Maybe the new night club will get them to break ground

Yeah I know about these, and I'm glad they're happening but man that crater on the south side of downtown sucks.

jmitch94
Would be nice if this was taller and constructed faster but other than that this seems to be quite nice.

The Pragmatist
Despite the insane construction time, this turned out pretty nice.
bobruss
i agree. Great location right on the rail. That will help in marketing.
cspwal
Went in today and inquired about their "history."  Apparently there used to be a church on the block, and they dug up an intact piece of it when they were excavating the foundation and parking garage.  Any idea what church that would have been?

monarch
^^^ @hindesky gorgeous!  this is the very reason that it took this development so long to open, there are just so many minute and interesting details in this structure.  a very well-constructed edifice..... simply beautiful.....
cspwal
They have definitely put a lot of time and effort into improving their street presence past what's typical of the average apartment donut. Both Leeland and bell are lined with vegetation beyond the street trees, they have planters around the water meter, and it's very pleasant to walk by each day
Popular Post UtterlyUrban
I drove past this apartment yesterday.  I was shocked to see how many units had personal possessions on the balconies (at least on the side facing Main).  My word, this place only opened what, two months ago, And it seems like the vast majority of the units were already occupied!  WOW!  hey, ummmm, Mr. Campo, how about breaking ground on those amazing highrises next to the Toyota Center?
rechlin
Looks like they are doing some major exterior renovations here. Scaffolding is up on the entire side facing Main. Maybe replacing windows?
ttuchris
They changed the first floor windows to triple pane. I assume they are doing the same to the other floors.
Nate99
Ii it possible that they have had to discount the Main facing units compared to the others due to the constant noise from the light rail? Better windows may make them as quiet as the other units.
hindesky
If they are doing window replacements the south side got them too or at least the 2 lower floors. Â

editor
Does anyone have an opinion about what this place is like to live in? A friend of mine took a tour very recently, and noticed that one of the doors was broken in, and hadn't been fixed. When he asked about it, the leasing agent responded with, "We're downtown." Regardless of the neighborhood (I've lived in way scarier locations), that does not inspire confidence in how the building is run or maintained. Many developers do not understand that buildings in busy areas need to have doors, gates, and lower level windows constructed of a higher level of security. I wish I could fly them out to more urban cities for a tour. Instead of just putting in a better door they will just let it get broken every 6 months and fix it 2 months later every time. mollusk
"We're downtown." Really???? That response is even worse than the busted door.
