cloud713
Wow! I'm here now.. It is spectacular! About to go up the mount.. I didn't realize how much water would be rushing down the hill. Nor did I realize they had a reflection pond by the front entrance with fountains shooting up. Still a bit of work to be done but it is fantastic.

fkp5
This is probably the most gorgeous area in all of Houston. Too bad we aren't getting more high-rise hotels and residentials going up in the museum district.
Naviguessor
Was imagining how great a big sprawling resort style hotel would be in that big lot just west of Park Lane across from the Park. Stopped by today too, with the dog (glad they let him in). Will be amazing when it's finished and filled in. Proud of it.
Popular Post Triton
cloud713 has already knocked this out of the water, but I ended up going to the park today (I didn't think I was going to have enough time to). august948
Went by with the wife and kids on Sunday and it was closed off. I guess the opening on Saturday was just a sneak-peak. A grounds worker told us it would be fully open in three or four weeks.

lockmat
Yes lockmat. My sister has been looking into getting married here ever since I told her about it.I'm happy for your sister if that's what she decides to do, but on the whole I think it's an awful idea to allow this.Everyone can say goodbye to enjoying this space at the very least on weekends. Also say goodby to a presentable and living lawn, just like discovery green. Edited December 24, 2014 by lockmat
htownproud
I live in the area so really looking forward to this. Those hours suck though. Hopefully they extend them soon. I realize it's off season, but it's also grand opening season.

But you've got it wrong. The weddings/event area you can rent is only the "Celebration Garden" portion off to the north side (seen below), and of course the pavilion. Here is where people would get married/have outdoor events.. And some other close ups/angles Triton may not have posted. And htown.. It's not completely finished yet.
