Four Seasons lounge lands on Forbes.com list

Allison Wollam

Houston Business Journal

The Lobby Lounge, situated inside the Four Seasons-Houston lobby, has been named by Forbes.com as one of the world's best hotel bars for business travelers.

The list includes 25 hotel bars from around the world and features eight from the United States.

The Lobby Lounge was the only hotel bar listed in Texas.

According to Forbes.com, the best hotel bars for business travelers are ones that provide enough solitude when needed, but can also conjure up a festive atmosphere when the occasion demands. The bar should stock the most popular super-premium liquors and even a few that aren't so popular. Additionally, the bartender should be knowledgeable, entertaining, a first-class mixologist and someone who knows how to make out-of-towners feel welcome.

Apparently this happened last night. He took off his shoes and belt then took a swan dive onto the pavement.

Anyone know this guy?

why would he take off his shoes and belt?

My heart goes out to his family.

I have no remorse for the jumper though, suicide is about the single most selfish thing a person can do, I understand they aren't in a right state of mind, but they leave behind family, friends and other loved ones that will always wonder if there was something they could have done to keep this person they love in their lives.

I would have 100% agree with you if I hadn't gone through a similar experience myself. It isn't just being in the wrong state of mind. When every painful thought in your head and every fiber of your being tells you that you are better off dead, thinking about how any other person feels in that moment is the farthest thing in your mind.

People who are depressed enough to commit suicide don't have a few months of depression, but maybe years on going. Being beat down that much and for that long takes a toll, and sadly ending the suffering of mental illness by any means can be too tempting for some.

It's a tragic way to go for everyone involved.

Info on the mural on the Four Seasons hotel at 1300 Lamar St and others part of Big Art Bigger Change.:

"On Saturday, October 15, downtown Houston will transform into an open-air museum with the unveiling of a new fine art mural exhibition coined Big Art. Bigger Change...The large-scale project spans a mile-long stretch of the Bayou City. It's a collective effort between Central Houston, Inc. (CHI), a member-driven organization focused on the betterment of the downtown neighborhood, and Street Art for Mankind (SAM), a global non-profit which leans on the power of art to trigger social change, with funding from the Houston Downtown Management District and corporate partner TotalEnergies."

Mods, @Urbannizer @Highrise Tower @Triton can this possibly be considered for relocation to the downtown Houston forum?
