editor Posted October 18, 2008 Share Posted October 18, 2008 Sometimes on HAIF, discussion threads go bad. And sometimes a bad discussion thread goes good. That's what's happening right now in this thread on whether Dubai's bubble is about to burst. It started with a discussion about Dubai's recent economic trouble, then devolved into a discussion of its moral character. Now regular HAIFer Mark F. Barnes has saved the thread from doom by posting pictures of the real Dubai. He's over there right now and is posting pictures from his iPhone. Sure, some of them are of the super futuristic skyscrapers we're used to seeing. But most of them are average street scenes and markets and things regular people would see. It's a chance to see a side of the emirate that you never get to see on the Discovery Channel or other places where only the superlative is celebrated.Linky Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
