I wonder if there are any Davis Food City locations still open?

The website expired and it is no longer available.

There was a Food City on Bissonnet @ Renwick. That shopping center has been undergoing renovation and the sign has been down. Now there's a banner in the window proclaiming El Ahorro Supermarket is now open

My Food City on Stella Link @ 610 closed a few months back. Maybe all of them did close - dunno??

There was one on Old Galveston road, I haven't been out there in years.

There was one on the east side of the Gulf Freeway too. It was an old red brick, kind of junky looking building.

As of April 9, 2007 these Davis Food City stores were open:
*#10 - 9223 Stella Link, Houston
*#12 - 5859 Bissonnet, Bellaire
*#14 - 5230 Aldine Mail, unincorporated Harris County (Aldine area)

Now, looking back - on or around March 12, 2005, these locations were still open:

So if the Bellaire store AND the Aldine-Westfield store have both closed, then Davis Food City is no more.

I used to shop at the one on Stella occasionally. I remember a blind couple coming in one time and a store employee took them around the store to help with their shopping. She would tell them what was on the shelf, etc. I thought that was really cool customer service.
