editor Posted August 18, 2007 Share Posted August 18, 2007 MODIFICATION TO SCHEDULED CLOSURES AT I-10/BELTWAY 8 INTERCHANGE"TxDOT Modifies Weekend Construction Plans In Preparation for Hurricane Dean"(Houston) The work schedule for the previously advertised total closure of the I-10/Katy Freeway westbound mainlanes at Beltway 8 and the associated closures scheduled for this weekend have been cancelled. The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has modified the work schedule of all construction activities in preparation for Hurricane Dean. All lane closures throughout the Texas coastal region will be suspended by noon on Saturday in preparation for possible evacuations. The I-10/Katy Freeway westbound mainlanes at Beltway 8 and associated Beltway 8 frontage road closures will now begin tonight, Friday, August 17 at 9:30 PM and conclude Saturday, August 18 by noon as contractors remove steel beams on the existing Beltway 8 southbound to I-10 eastbound direct connector.
