The Bayou City inched a little closer to joining the Z club by passing a measure protecting hundreds of homes in the historic Sixth Ward from being torn down. The immediate effect will be to block the construction of a home described as the "Garage Mahal." HAIF members are busy discussing the long-term impact of what some see as the government ripping their rights out of their cold, home-owning hands.
