http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/nb/cyf...ws/4399953.html ...future focal point of Bridgeland will be its 1,000-acre Town Center on both sides of Grand Parkway. The center will feature retail, multiple-family homes, space for a college satellite, medical facilities and offices. The center's construction time frame will depend on the completion of Grand Parkway, but Houghton said it probably would begin between 2013 and 2015. This area is exploding. It already has a greater population than the greater Woodlands area, and now they're going to stick a Woodlands-sized community in, with all of the other new communities planned/underway? I hope they get to work on 290 soon.

Deleted this member. Also banned his e-mail address, and user name and similar ones. Also, he was coming from a computer in the Philippines, so I banned the entire ISP. I should probably ban the entire country. I know other web sites ban all users from Russia, Romania, and a number of Asian countries. I wonder if that would help here, too.

The Master-Planned Community will bring a town center, medical center, offices, multifamily homes, etc to the Porter/New Caney area. Tree's have already been cut down for Grand Parkway (visible to see on 59). The Grand Parkway will split the two sides of the community and will be 2 miles and a half south from the new Grand Texas Theme Park.

Just read in the chronicle- http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/m...politan/3003806 that the county may start planning the extension of the Grand Parway loop to run from Katy, I-10 west, north all the way to 59 east in Kingwood I guess. Does anyone have any details on what the plans for this are in terms of what communities it will pass through(Tomball Woodlands?). Not sure how much traffic this will ease in existing roads but it may be an investment in future development.

https://www.newquest.com/property/the-grand-at-249/ Previously proposed as Grand Parkway Town Center with a Kroger Marketplace component - this version no longer features the Kroger store but does have a presence across the Grand Parkway. It is also adjacent to the Interchange 249 Business Park. https://www.bizjournals.com/houston/news/2023/10/09/newquest-develops-the-grand-at-249-retail-tomball.html?cx_testId=40&cx_testVariant=cx_27&cx_artPos=1#cxrecs_s "The company said 388,856 square feet, or 96%, of the $90 million development is already leased or under negotiation. The retail center’s 12 1- to 2-acre pad sites should be delivered by the end of the year, NewQuest President Austin Alvis said, adding that all but two of the pads are already committed. Construction for the first multitenant building, totaling 15,000 square feet of retail space on the corner of Highway 249 and Boudreaux Road, should also start by the end of the year, Austin said. A 145,000-square-foot multitenant building row is in the design phase. Also planned are two multitenant buildings totaling 24,902 square feet."

Large business center / distribution center project under development just west of the intersection of SH 249 & the Grand Parkway https://lovettindustrial.com/properties/portfolio/interchange-249 "Interchange 249, a joint venture between Lovett Industrial and Clarion Partners, is a multi-phased 240-acre business park, that, at park completion, will offer nearly 3.1 million square feet of light industrial and warehouse space. The park is positioned at the interchange of Highway 249 and the Grand Parkway in Tomball, Texas." The first phase is a 10 building project. The largest, Building 10, is used by Macy's for their relocated distribution center. Building 2 is also leased. Marketing materials show a push to lease the next largest warehouse (Building 6 - 737Ksf) and a smaller one (Building 1 - 99Ksf, with about 20Ksf left to fill) 2nd and 3rd phases are also planned, each with three buildings - adding over a million square feet of space. https://www.bizjournals.com/houston/news/2023/09/21/macys-opens-new-tomball-distribution-center.html?cx_testId=40&cx_testVariant=cx_27&cx_artPos=8#cxrecs_s "The more than 908,000-square-foot facility is part of the first phase of Interchange 249, a 240-acre business park in Tomball developed by Houston-based Lovett Industrial and New York City-based Clarion Partners on the southwest corner of the intersection of the Grand Parkway and State Highway 249.
