The Heights Restaurant And Bar Scene - More Coming
Northwood replied to Freelander's topic in The Heights
The former Beck’s Prime in the former bank building at Heights/19th (115 W 19th) has a TABC notice up. The LLC seems to tie back to Bluestone Lane which is a chain of Australian-inspired cafes/coffee shops based out of NYC. https://bluestonelane.com -

Anyone know what is planned for the renovated house on the NWC of 15th and Yale (201 W 15th)? The renovation looks great and seems like it could be a restaurant. -
As a PVA grad, I really hope that HISD can afford to build a quality project that will accomodate the classroom, rehearsal, lab, perfomance spaces plus parking, all within a 62,500 sqft footprint, without skimping. It is going to cost so much more to go vertical. Please, please, please give HSPVA the quality campus this amazing school deserves.

That remaining Orr tract would make for a good Trader Joes site.

I see that a new building is under construction in between the Chili's and Xpedx. Anyone know if there is a tenant lined up?

I believe this is in support of the American Heart Association's "Go Red for Women" campaign. www.goredforwomen.org

GreenStreet: Mixed-Use Development At 1201 Fannin St.
Northwood replied to MontroseNeighborhoodCafe's topic in Downtown
A lot of entertainment contracts have this sort of stipulation. They prevent you from having a performance in the same town as their venue within a certain time window. Some even limit the performer from giving a free show in that town. I believe the intent is to maximize the promoters revenue by limiting supply and forcing the crowds to pay their high ticket price. -

Agree. Berryhill is certainly a positive for the neighborhood. -
We stopped by last night and my wife was like a kid in a candy shop. She kept smiling as she was able to find her size in every garment she picked up. The store turned out really nice and the staff are super helpful.

Pure speculation here, but- what if Target realized well into construction that this really should be a "Super" Target? Could they not just tack on the grocery section? Could this be an explanation for the new tilt wall construction adjacent to the Target on the North side?

Shepherd Plaza: Retail Center At 1221-1261 W. 11th St.

We tried the lemon grass beef and tuna last night. It was great. Like the above posts, they are still working out the kinks but I give it two thumbs up. -
As was speculated in this thread, it appears there will a Starbucks inside the Target. I noticed a Starbucks sign installed in the Target window last night. I guess my hopes of having a drive-thru coffee place (Starbucks, CC's, Deitrich's) in the new development are not going to happen.
