Raised in D-Town but spent my first couple of birthdays in H-Town. Like to think I can claim both.;)

  1. ^Awesome. Finally major high-rise construction outside the core. Maybe this will inspire the midtown project to speed up. It'd be nice if they went taller.
  2. I disagree. Anyone in Dallas who knows about skyscrapers knows Houston has the tallest and (will always have) the most number of tall bldgs. I am 101% certain Perot knows this too. I doubt Dallas will ever reach the same number of tall blgs around the city and if it did Houston would have doubled by that time but I wouldnt doubt if we put up some more 30 story+s in unexpected places outside the core. Id keep an eye on the southside in the next decade too. Ive never heard any Dallas people talk like that. Truthfully all cities have pompous citizens. Ive actually found Austin to be the most smug.
  3. Yea that BOA in ATL is all fluff at the top. Take away the spire and it's almost the same rooftop height as the Dallas BOA. Yep 69+ stories with tall ceilings is possible for this Foster tower if built even with small floor plates. Just a reminder: 432 Park Ave is only 412,000sqft and stands well over 1,300 feet.
  4. It's a good looking render. I just hope it doesn't look like a giant grain silo. J/k I think he will do a great job. 1 million sq ft can reach 300m easily. If it's at least 788ft that would be cool. At least 922ft would great. 300m(984ft) would rock. 1003ft would be better.
  5. Just Jackie Chan. All 69 floors.
  6. Finally Perot sounds excited like he's got some fire now!! Its about time. Truthfully I was very dissappointed in the first render. That render looked boring as heck, almost generic. After looking at bold skyscrapers around the globe (especially my favorites in Moscow) I wondered why we couldn't have another bold design to continue the theme started in the 80s. This design is gorgeous and has a London/Moscow/international type of feel. Nothing looks like it in Dallas. This should easily hit 900ft+. Even if its just 1,000,000sqft. Just look at 432 Park Ave in NYC. That sucker is like over 1300ft yet skinny(412ksqft). We can finally get our deserved supertall with a smaller footprint. Since the spot has no height limit we need to go hard or go home. Glad Perot wanted something more aggressive. No wonder he has been so quiet over the last 3+ years. I hope its taller than LAs US Bank Tower (1018ft). 1025ft would be a perfect height IMO but if they can go taller.....wow! (There's not an emoticon on site that can express my thoughts right now)!!!
  7. And now some more info on the other "40 story" tower. The Flora Street Lofts. This new literature is now stating the tower could be 41 stories. According to the article it should begin this fall. Awaiting Tax credit approval this summer. Yes this will have Section 8 housing for starving artists. One wonders how you prove youre an "artist" to receive this tax credit. Haha. Whatever. She's gonna look good. http://dallas.towers.net/2017/03/22/creative-housing-for-creatives-flora-street-lofts/
  8. You would be correct about the direction. A bit facing southwest if Im not mistaken. I believe the complex you are referring to is The Crescent Definately a beauty.
  9. More news on AMLI Tower: 46 story, 562ft. http://www.dallasnews.com/business/real-estate/2017/03/20/developer-buys-site-new-downtown-dallas-skyscraper
  10. Thats good Native. Wrong thread but still good. AMLI Fountain Place is starting up this summer too!
  11. I believe in many spots yes but the tallest u/c or just topped out are: 34stories 32 31 30 And the tallest existing is of course the 42 story city place. So any height limit seems wishy washy. What is irritating is that it seems that even now they are still proposing more towers in the 20-23 range. Instead of making a hundred of these squatters they could have made half the amount at twice the height or at least in the 30s range. It's okay though. Its all coming together nicely and if you've seen it lately the density is looking impressive. Like a little San Diego.
  12. ^The British are coming! Haha. I'd actually love to see an HSBC or Barclays tower in Dallas.
  13. Just some casual snaps I've taken recently from the West Dallas/Medical District area. Not the best quality but its aight. You can see Blue Ciel and others rising. View from my Uncle's mid rise in West Dallas A far off view of Las Colinas Nice lighting on the new Aloft Hotel
  14. ^At 34 stories this should add some nice height to the area.
  15. The Chicago version is nice but would have clashed with Fountain place. I just saw some other renders on dallasmetropolis which look way better and work in concert design-wise with Fountain place.... complimenting it. Very nice!
